La Diouana is a beautiful 30's villa with panoramic ocean views.
Situated near the old kasbah of Oualidia, the house is a mixture of traditional and contemporary Moroccan design. All rooms have moucharrabieh woodwork and tadlakt (polished plaster) floors.
The villa has three en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen, a study/library with broadband access, a patio, a roof terrace and a sitting room with wood-burning stove, stereo and DVD player.
There is also a cottage in the garden with kitchen/sitting room, en-suite bedroom and patio, as well as a separate first-floor apartment with twin beds, bathroom, terrace and sea views.
The villa is surrounded by a wonderful 25,000 sq ft garden of palm trees, pine, mimosa, oleander, bougainvillea and many other shrubs and flowers.
Just two and a half hours from Marrakech, the pace at La Diouana is slow and unhurried. By day you can snooze in a hammock or sunbathe on the roof terrace, gazing down at the lagoon far below you. At night-time, you can luxuriate in a tadlakt bathtub and gaze up at the stars, the only sounds the distant crash of waves and the rustle of wind in the pine trees.
Our manager, Abdillah, lives two minutes away and will cheerfully help with suggestions and assistance during your stay.
The beach - a few minutes’ walk from the house - is safe and pleasant for swimming. You can hire a boat for lagoon excursions and we can arrange fishing trips for sea-bass and sea-bream (Abdillah will grill your catch on the barbecue). We can organise surfing lessons, windsurfing, kayak, pedalo and catamaran hire. Quad bikes are available in the village. There are also two tennis courts with rackets for hire.
