This historic building was part of a Kalif’s palace built around 1750. Once through the door of Kitula a corridor leads you to two riads that can be rented together or separately. The riad is situated next to the Katoubia mosque and the Djemaa el Fna square.
Pass through the threshold of the main riad and you are transported into an inner sanctuary of flowing fountains, cool shade, and the rustle of palm, banana, orange and lemon trees. Riad Kitula is a spectacular riad with an understated mix of European and Moroccan décor.
Riad Kitula can comfortably sleep 10 adults. This riad has 6 bedrooms. 1 bedroom may sleep 2 children in a double bed and 2 other bedrooms share a same bathroom.
Bedroom 1 : The Master Bedroom is situated on the ground floor and opens out onto the wonderfully lush courtyard with orange trees. There are high ceilings, with lovely floor to ceiling glass retro doors. There is a four-poster bed, soft colourings and a little sitting area. There is an ensuite bathroom.
Bedroom 2 and 3 : The Double Suite is situated at the top of the house and comprises two double bedrooms with an interconnecting bathroom. Both are lovely rooms with cosy beds. The view is over the courtyard and the river of Bougainvillea.
Bedroom 4 : The Garden Room is also situated on the ground floor and opens out onto the wonderfully lush courtyard with orange trees. There are also high ceilings, with lovely floor to ceiling glass retro doors. There is an ensuite bathroom.
Bedroom 5 : The Twin room is on the upper level and is very bright and airy. It overlooks the balmy courtyard and its windows tower over the Bougainvillea wall. The bathroom is elevated and overlooks the bedroom. The beds can be separate or pushed together.
Bedroom 6 : The Kids bedrooms is is situated in between floors but could be very useful for children to play in and give their parents a little peace.
Staff includes a cook, a maid and a caretaker to ensure that your needs both in and out of the house are attended to. Also, a house secretary who is fluent in French, English and Arabic is available to arrange all excursions, taxis and reservations you may require during your stay.
A roof terrace, with views overlooking Marrakech, offers an escape for lazy days in the sun.
There are two reception rooms and a dining room. Wireless internet is available for those who travel with wi-fi enabled devices.
