Dar Maha is an authentic Kasbah style house, entirely built in dry stones. The villa is situated within a wooded area, a protected argania tree grove next to the village of El Ghazoua, a mere 2 km from the sea, 7 km from Essaouira airport and 8 km from Essaouira’s medina (Old town).
The outside walls, coated with a mix of straw and lime, combined with the massive columns, embedded with ocean pebbles, are the witnesses of a subtile combination between the local countryside regional style and reminders of the immediate vicinity of the Atlantic Ocean.
Two traditional fountains with very clean lines give a specific atmosphere to the inside atriums and lead the visitor into flowered trails reaching a pool area. A +/- 80 m² sundeck terrace offers a view over the inside gardens with their olive tree, argania tree, orange tree groves and the neighboring brooms and palm groves.
Dar Maha offers 4 bedrooms, all individually accessible from the inside atrium.
Each one of them includes a private terrace and a traditional fireplace.
The use of local materials such as tadelakt from Marrakech, zelliges from Fez, stained concrete tiles from Marrakech emphasizes the local Moroccan character of the habitat. The furniture and decorative objects are creations from local craftsmen or are the results from browsing treks through the local markets, called souks, and underline the Moroccan craftsmanship know-how and sophistification.
Dar Maha provides breakfast but does offer a restaurant service for lunch or diner.

Une demeure pleine de charme et de raffinement dans les moindres détails.Extrême amabilité et discrétion de la propriétaire. Il faudrait juste améliorer la localisation en cas d'arrivée avec son propre véhicule. Excellente adresse à recommander. VillaNovo est un site agréable et bien construit. Réactivité immédiate de la personne contactée depuis le Maroc suite à l'impossibilité de trouver l'adresse de la maison d'hôtes.( Le plan proposé par internet n'était pas bon et la propriétaire n'était pas joignable sur le numéro indiqué). Donc merci, je reviendrai dès que nécessaire sur le site.
