We don't want to frighten you at the very beginning but imagine that in an unlikely situation while you are abroad, you would lose your passport! Make sure you have sent an email or kept a copy of your passport so that you have at least something in case you lose it.
Don’t forget to mark your luggage fragile
If you are carrying easily breakable items, remember to label your luggage with a "fragile" note. Airport luggage can be harshly handled during transit on the plane, so to make sure your delicate items are safe, mark them with a "fragile" sticker.
Take some local currencies
Although credit cards are accepted everywhere and it is sometimes very difficult to carry bulk currency, we advise you to carry at least some currency from the country you are travelling to, to make sure you don't have to pay credit charges everywhere, especially when buying souvenirs or local products on which you spend little.
To avoid your phone being switched off while you're enjoying your visits, always take a portable charger with you. In addition, also carry a universal adapter, as plug points vary from country to country and your phone pin or laptop tip may not fit.
You need to keep yourself hydrated during long-haul flights but buying water every time can be expensive and you'll end up spending unnecessarily. We advise you to bring your own bottle to refill it as many times as you need. However, be sure to empty it before your safety checks.
Wrap small plastic pieces underneath your liquid bottles
If you are carrying shampoo bottles or anything else that might spill during your journey, the best way to avoid it is to cover the opening of the bottle with a small piece of plastic and then put the lid on. That way, the liquid won't be leaking out.
Do not forget your travel pillow
You'll want to rest during your trip. Don't forget to bring your travel pillow to sleep comfortably and support your neck when you are seated. Your travel pillow is one of the essentials during a trip.
Have your souvenir list ready
We all want to get something for our loved ones from our travel destinations, but we also have to deal with the stress and loss of time to decide what souvenir to give to whom. To avoid this situation and save time during your vacation, make a list beforehand of the souvenirs you want to bring back for your friends and family.
Try to wear your bulkiest jacket when you check-in.
To avoid exceeding the check-in or cabin baggage limit, which is low enough for most airlines, try to wear your heaviest jacket when checking in your cabin baggage. This will save space and weight in your luggage and you can put it back in your baggage after check-in.
Unpack your luggage as soon as you return
That's probably the best advice! Try to unpack your luggage as soon as you get home from your trip. We all procrastinate in the unpacking process and our luggage stays there for days! It's tiring, but once you've unpacked your luggage immediately, you won't have to worry about it later.
