1. Angle is key

1. Angle is key

Though it may appear insignificant to many, choosing the right angle can set apart your picture from an average one. This is extremely important as when on holiday, one is likely to be in a crowd, especially when visiting major sightseeing spots of the destination, in high season. When that is the case, for example in Marrakech where it is impossible to take a good quality picture of the Koutoubia Mosque, don’t give up on the picture but simply change your perspective, hold the camera up, go down low or twist the camera, changing the angle has an incredibly powerful effect on the end result.

When talking about equipment, we are not talking about the newest camera but accessories to take splendid pictures with your phone. While on holiday with family or friends, one often has to ask someone passing by to take a group shot. These usually don’t end up pleasing everyone but asking for the picture to be taken again can be a little awkward at times, therefore, why not buy a tripod? This genus invention allows you to take a photograph as many times as one wishes and try a multitude of angles and poses freely.

5. Avoid midday

5. Avoid midday

The sun can be our best friend and worse enemy at the same times when it comes to pictures. At midday, when it is at its highest point, you are likely to take an overexposed picture which does’t look so pleasant on an instagram feed. The tip is to always have your back to the sun to avoid the unpleasant colour contrasts. On the other hand, at sunrise or sunset, when the sun spreads into the cotton candy skies, be sure to have your phone out for some wonderful pictures to delight all of your instagram followers!
