Bali and Phuket, perfect family holiday destinations

When planning a family holiday, it is important to pick the right destination, one which will suit everyone’s needs and desires. At Villanovo, we understand that the organisation behind a holiday of the sort can be difficult and overwhelming feelings can sometimes prevail. To ensure a convivial atmosphere for your family to come together over bonding experiences, Villanovo has selected two of the top family holiday destinations of 2020 to inspire you and facilitate the organisation process of your trip.

>>> Bali or Thailand?

Find yourself in Bali

Find yourself in Bali

This beautiful Indonesian island has long been renowned for its postcard landscapes, joyful lifestyle, delicious gastronomy not to mention its abundance of activities. For families who wish to jet off to somewhere tropical where everyone will be in high spirits, Bali is the one! We recommend going in its dry season which is between April and September for optimal weather conditions. Bali will make you and your children forget about the daily life stress and leave behind office hours or school work.

Bali is the ideal destination for children to learn about a country’s culture and history in an entertaining way. Ubud, in the center of the island, is the cultural center of Bali. There, you and your family can discover the impressive cultural heritage of the island and take part in traditional rituals. Children will enjoy a hike in the magnificent verdant rice fields, followed by a picnic in the heart of the jungle and a visit to the monkey forest which is a must while in Bali. The warm weather means anything is possible to do and all at a budget-friendly cost, which is another great charm of the island. Watersports being widely popular, a great bonding experience could be to take surfing classes as a family on one of Bali’s surfing beaches including Seminyak or Lovina. For a calmer afternoon, we suggest heading to Sanur beach which has calm and shallow water due to the reef protecting it, ideal for children to play in the water!

The perfect family holiday begins with the perfect villa in Bali. At Villanovo, we offer a wide selection of gorgeous luxury villas, adapted to suit everyone’s needs. If you are looking to spend most of your time on the beach, sunbathing, surfing or snorkeling, why not rent a villa with direct access to the beach? These villas are usually beachfront; what more could one want than to fall asleep to the sound of waves and wake up facing the Ocean?

Rejuvenate in Phuket

Rejuvenate in Phuket

Phuket, a beautiful Thai island, is another popular island in SouthEast Asia, north of Indonesia. Renowned for its trendy luxury, Phuket is as much as family destination as Bali though they both offer separate perks as well as remaining fairly similar. Phuket is perhaps a little bit more relaxed than Bali and will suit a family who wishes to discover uninhabited and beautiful beaches in a more westernised environment. Despite being in Asia, Phuket conformed to westernisation more than Bali which has kept its lifestyle and culture intact. Phuket remains charming and authentic but will possibly not be as culturally different as Bali. Nevertheless, a trip to Phuket will certainly be a complete change of scenery for those coming from Europe or America. It is important to note that Phuket’s optimal weather is between November to February which is Bali’s less ideal weather

Those who are envisaging white sandy beaches with emerald water with local fishermen docking their boats with the fresh catch of the day are picturing Phuket. This Thai jewel has more to offer than an ideal bathing and sunbathing environment. As nearly 90% of Thais are buddhists, Buddhism plays a major role in the culture of the country. The Phuket Big Buddha, on Nakkerd hill, is a fantastic half a day trip to enjoy with your family. It is recommended to get a taxi there as the hill is quite steep. Once travellers have arrived, they are welcomed by a multitude of local shops offering fresh coconut water, smoothies and all sorts of thai delicacies to be appreciated before entering the Big Buddha. Inside, you will be amazed by chanting monks all dressed in orange robes, a truly spectacular moment.

For an optimal family holiday, Villanovo recommends staying in Villa Sammasan, a lovely 3 bedroom villa located on the heights of Surin Beach. The facilities which are offered are absolutely extraordinary including a private swimming pool, multiple terraces including a jacuzzi where breathtaking sea views can be admired and a thai chef to give you a taste of the local gastronomy.
