If there is indeed a city where it is absolutely necessary to spend holidays in Paros, it is Naoussa. A small fishing port with white-clad houses, Naoussa is immersed in the setting that characterises the Greek islands so beautifully, embellishing the Cyclades archipelago. Located about ten kilometres from the town of Parikiá, this small port is home to many shops, restaurants and taverns animating the narrow alleys.

But what definitely fascinates holidaymakers is its authentic charm and beauty that is enhanced by its cobbled streets surrounded by flowers and its religious and historical buildings that will enchant history lovers. Historic buildings that are also sites of interest in Naoussa.

The must-see in Naoussa

Among the places to be seen in Naoussa, we will certainly mention, without hesitation, the beautiful churches and chapels in white that overhang houses with blue windows. Do not miss the church of St. Nicholas, considered to be the patron saint of sailors. Located a few minutes from the port of Parikiá, this charming church currently houses a multi-storey bell tower and a beautiful octagonal dome. The Church of the Dormition of the Virgin, considered to be the third most important church in Paros, also deserves the detour. Fancy a panoramic view of the Venetian castle rising to the North of the port? Go for a walk to the church overlooking the harbour, before heading to the monastery of Saint Andrew, built in 1648.
