By the trails

For families with children, the most suitable cove is Sormiou. From Cassis, it takes about 40 minutes by car to get to the edge of this cove. On your way, you will pass a few small huts and houses before arriving at a beautiful pebble cove. Continuing on the slightly steep paths, you will reach the Cap de Redon, from where it is possible to observe beautiful landscapes over the water.

A little more difficult for the little ones, but the walk from Morgious to Sugiton remains one of the most beautiful. Steeper, you will encounter peaks and places to climb, but this is how you can get a great panoramic view of the coves and their sandy beaches.

Visit the famous calanques of Cassis via Port Miou. You will pass cliffs and old quarries on your way before reaching the port of Port Pin. At the end of the tour, you will find a cove with crystal clear waters and lush vegetation. A real paradise!

The Ridge Route is also a breathtaking destination with magnificent views over the coves.

Visiting the coves by boat is an opportunity to see these landscapes from a different perspective. Instead of getting up high, you will feel so little in front of the beautiful cliffs and rocks that face you. The natural site promises beautiful blues, limestone rocks, and a variety of underwater fauna. By boat, you can discover secret coves and unsuspected underwater caves. It is an opportunity for children to have a swim and not have to tire themselves out.

You can also prefer to go paddling, which is a more sporty way to discover the Calanques. Paddling is also convenient for families, as children can easily control the board while having fun. While paddling, it's the perfect opportunity to take your snorkel and observe the sea bed. The coves are all placed in a row and are easy to access. Plus, being in the Mediterranean, the calm water makes for peaceful walks for all.

Don't miss a walk around the port of Cassis, from where you will probably leave by boat. It is lovely to stroll around and have dinner in the evening after a good day on the water.

A cove worth seeing is Figuerolles. This beautiful cove is a mixture of turquoise water and ochre cliffs. A small cave is located in the cove and can be visited. It is a discovery activity that children will surely enjoy. You may come across climbers who love this place for its light, sapphire blue, and steep walls.  Nearby, only 20 minutes on foot, is the Bec de l'Aigle, a peak that dominates La Ciotat. It offers a panoramic view of the surrounding Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful green island, covered with lush pine trees.

The coves guarantee great memories and beautiful scenery. You will discover picturesque fishing ports, such as the port of Mouy, or exotic coves and inlets, such as Malmousque or Maldormé. On foot, by boat, or by paddle, your children will be more than amazed by the beauty of the place.
