What to do in Cap d'Antibes?

The Cap d'Antibes is a peninsula located between Cannes and Nice. It is a wild place, home to many different plant and animal species, classified as a Natura 2000 area.  Besides offering a unique view of the Mediterranean Sea, the Cap is home to magnificent cliffs and coves. Stroll through the narrow streets of the peninsula and lose yourself in the sumptuous villas. Villanovo offers you a list of things to do when you go to Cap d'Antibes.

La Garoupe

La Garoupe, the highest point of the Cap, offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. A splendid lighthouse, 103 m high, overlooks the estate. Next to it, you will find the chapel of Notre Dame, a historical monument, where you can see the beautiful collection of ex-votos.

The little extra: There is a small café, the Bistrot du Curé, which offers local and French specialties at the top of the Garoupe. Special mention for the salade niçoise!

Château de la Croë

Château de la Croë

If you want to see the most beautiful villas on the French Riviera, Cap d'Antibes is the place to be. Among them: the Château de la Croë. It was built in the 1920s by Armand-Albert Rateau in Victorian style. It was once the home of the Duke of Windsor, who came to live there after his abdication. Later, it was owned by other personalities before being bought in 2004 by the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.  For film lovers: the castle resembles the homes seen in the film "The Great Gatsby"!

The beaches

Being a wild place, the beaches of the cape are also wild. Between lazing around, snorkelling or quiet swimming, the beautiful beaches of the area are worth a visit.  The beaches of Les Ondes and La Garoupe are rather narrow, but still pleasant. The beach of Salis is the last beach before arriving at the cape. It offers a beautiful view of the Cap d'Antibes and the town and small fishing port of Salis.

Garden of the Villa Thuret

Garden of the Villa Thuret

Head inland and visit the superb Villa Thuret and its magnificent garden. Indeed, with its 3 hectares, the park is an exceptional place to discover the Mediterranean fauna. More than 2,500 trees and shrubs are plant here, as well as plants and flowers you may never have heard of.

Cap d'Antibes is a destination between sea and mountains, culture and nature, in short: the perfect spot for your next stay!
