With its miles of coastline, Porto offers its visitors beautiful beaches to relax on after having explored the city. They are located mainly at the mouth of the Douro, about 20 minutes by subway or bus.
Near Parque da Cidade - This is one of the largest beaches in the area, offering a wide range of activities during the summer season and is particularly suitable for families. Caution: in mid-season, this beach is subject to gusts of wind.
Located near Foz de Porto - this beach has many seaside restaurants as well as musical entertainment during the summer. Smaller than Praia de Matosinhos, the atmosphere is a little more intimate.

Near Parque da Cidade – The water is usually a little cool, but it is ideal for those brave souls who enjoy an invigorating swim! Bring shoes/sandals as the sand on this beach is quite coarse.
One of the largest beaches in the region, stretching for a staggering 17 km! The beach is connected to Porto by a railway line that leaves from Sao Bento station.
