Every luxury riad in the centre of Marrakech has been selected for its character, craftsmanship and refined atmosphere. Among the best riads in Marrakech, these properties reveal serene courtyards with private pools, rooftop terraces overlooking the Medina and elegant suites designed around traditional Moroccan architecture. Bright interiors, spacious bathrooms and carefully designed living areas create a warm and comfortable setting throughout the stay. Many riads feature a dedicated dining area with a large round table for shared meals, while breakfasts can be served on the terrace or beside the pools. Spacious beds, attentive house staff and wellness facilities such as hammams or spa areas further enhance the experience, creating a relaxed rhythm suited to families and groups of friends alike.
Riads in the Marrakech Medina allow guests to experience the city from within its oldest and most vibrant neighbourhoods. Hidden behind discreet doors along the narrow streets of the Medina, these properties are located close to landmarks such as Bahia Palace, Jemaa El Fna and the Medersa Ben Youssef, while remaining sheltered from the bustle outside. Beyond the Medina, Villanovo also offers villas in other areas of Marrakech, including the Palmeraie, Royal Palm and Amelkis, where more open landscapes, golf courses and landscaped gardens create a different setting on the outskirts of the city.
Villanovo’s dedicated concierge service accompanies each stay in Marrakech with care and discretion, ensuring a seamless and restful stay in the heart of the Medina. From airport transfers and breakfast provisions to arranging a private chef for dinner at the riad, spa treatments or excursions to the Atlas Mountains, every detail is carefully coordinated according to your preferences. Attentive house staff remain available when needed, creating a great way to experience Morocco with complete comfort and flexibility.
A stay in a riad in Marrakech offers a full immersion in the city’s living heritage. For guests visiting Marrakech for the first time, the Medina is an ideal starting point, where the atmosphere shifts between lively souks, quiet courtyards and narrow streets lined with artisan workshops. Within the area, landmarks such as Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa and Jemaa el-Fna Square reveal the city’s rich history just moments from the riads. Beyond the bustling streets, Marrakech also unveils a calmer side through its gardens and pockets of lush greenery, from the Majorelle Garden to the shaded courtyards hidden behind traditional façades. Art galleries such as David Bloch Gallery or Riad Yima reflect the city’s creative energy, while local craftsmen continue ancestral techniques including Tazoukt woodwork, woven textiles and hand-painted ceramics. Exploring the Medina becomes a gradual discovery of Marrakech’s rhythm, colours and atmosphere.
Dar Dar restaurant is lovely
Food at Comptoir Darna was wonderful but it felt very touristy compared to other restaurants
Our Atlas Mountains hike was amazing and being welcomed into the guide's village was memorable
Hammams, Dar El Bacha museum, The Secret Garden, dinner at Nomad and wandering near El Jardin area of the souk.
The Riad Baghala is an excellent Riad, very well decorated.
Zeitoun Café Kasbah is a very good restaurant in the area.
We did a walking tour of the Medina on day one, which was great to orient ourselves.
All the palaces (Badi and Bahia), the Saadian Tombs and especially the Jardin Secret are well worth a visit.
Wandering through the souks is, of course, a must!
We also walked to La Mamounia hotel, which is close to the Riad Serafine and definitely worth visiting even if just for a drink.
Café Zeitoun in the Kasbah is a great spot. A short walk away from the road and good value plus a nice terrace to have lunch at.
We also dined at Plus61 in Gueliz, great food.
The tour of the Medina was a highlight, as the local guide was exceptional. The Hammam was great and the Atlas Mountains a fantastic day out. NOMAD was also a favourite.
We loved going to the Medina. The shopping experience in Morocco was definitely our highlight, bartering with the local is a fun experience. We had to buy an additional suitcase to take all the good we bought back home.
We were blown away by the sheer beauty of the Agafay dessert just one hour away. We spent one night in a camp and witnessed one of the best Sunrise and sunset, it was magical. We did the hot air balloon experience in the early morning to catch the sunrise and camel ride in the evening during sunset—both were surreal experiences and I would definitely recommend it . We also visited the Yves Saint Laurent museum, the Majorelle Garden, the tombs, the palaces to name a few. The best experience though was the food…absolutely delicious.
