Marrakech: A privileged destination for Europeans

Marrakech: A privileged destination for Europeans

Marrakech is one of our flagship destinations, and a  team is on hand to manage logistics, discover every day new products and guarantee you a precise trip, perfect!

The city of Marrakech is a privileged destination for Europeans, and it must be said that everything here is implemented to offer a wide range of activities. The French and Spanish love this destination but has opened to new travellers in recent years: English, German, Dutch, Italian... and for two or three years, often outside the school holidays, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese but also South Americans settle in the city and around (Essaouira, Oualidia, Agadir...). Faced with this new clientele, we have set up a multilingual team: French, English, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish (Castilian), German, Arabic...

Architecture and tradition

Architecture and tradition

In Marrakech, we have two types of villas: in the medina and outside of the ancient city.

In the medina, houses or riads are structured under the same format:

  • a property on the street (very few windows, a front door arranged so as to hide the living rooms and common areas of the house...), but has a central open space (patio) often with trees or a pool
  • a balustrade walkway leading to the floors and bedrooms
  • a terrace (or double or triple) which offers a prodigious view of the city (we can also find a swimming pool here)

Outside the traditional city, spaces are very open on a property:

  • a villa welcomes rooms and lounges,
  • a terrace and many outdoor lounges offer intimate places,
  • a large garden (Marrakech is a true oasis flower throughout the year) with Berber tents, swimming pools, jacuzzi, tennis courts and petanque or barbecue areas depending on the available options.

Exceptional location

Exceptional location

The geographical situation of Marrakech and the surroundings of the city are absolutely original: between mountains and plains, you will be able to see the summits of the Atlas wherever you are accommodated. In winter, the snowy peaks cut the blue sky. From December to February, you can even enjoy the pleasure of riding down a snowy track of 65km from Marrakech. The rest of the year, the Toubkal (4,167m), the second highest peak in Africa after Kilimanjaro offers you an exceptional hike.

The surrounding green valleys are all different: Ourika, Ouirgane, Ouzet... They are either very popular with foreign tourists and Moroccans, or totally intimate (like Ouzet and Tinghir completely confidential, but strikingly splendid).

Places are also absolutely beautiful and are concentrated around the water points (wealth recognised for Moroccans): Lake Lalla Takerkoust 50km, and Ouzoud waterfalls (150km from Marrakech).
A desert is located about thirty kilometres away and is still relatively unknown to mass tourism, it is the desert of Agafay, where you can enjoy the amazing calm of such a moving space.

And the last asset, concerns a will that goes back to Fire Hassan II who wanted to develop golf in the country: Marrakech hosts 18 golf courses all near the city.

Finally, we could not decently silence the sunshine in Marrakech: 330 days of sunshine a year, temperatures in the day are not below 18°C. And when the rain falls, it is so nice that it never lasts long. From our Villanovo websites and 1001Villas / Riads in Marrakech, you will be able to choose the accommodation that suits you the most.
