Andalusia in southern Spain attracts every year tourists from all over the world.  The landscapes, the Costa del Sol, the architecture, and the culture are the true gem of this region. 
 
One of the most important tourist attractions in the region is the "Route of the White Villages". This network gathers villages located between the provinces of Málaga and Cádiz, in Andalusia, which share a common feature: white houses.

​Arcos de la Frontera (Cadiz)

Arcos de la Frontera is the gateway to the mythical route of the white villages and is one of the villages you must-see during your stay in Andalusia. Perched on a rocky promontory above the Guadalete River, the village is recognizable by its white houses and its arched bridge. The streets are uphill, but you will have magnificent views of the valley. Here, white is king and contrasts perfectly with the green of the surrounding countryside.

Strolling through the streets, you will discover a charming city full of history. Ronda, crossed by the El Tajo gorge, separates the city in two. The Puente Nuevo, built in the 18th century, makes the connection between the old town and the new neighborhoods. From this building, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscape and the white houses perched on the top. Cradle of modern bullfighting, crossing the bridge you will also find the Plaza de Los Toros bullring and the Arab Baths. It is one of the most popular white villages in the region.

20 minutes from Ronda nestled in the hollow of a river, you will discover in Setenil de la Bodega a unique landscape in Spain. At the top of this mountain, near the vineyards, stands the great church of the town. As you walk through the streets, you will notice that some of the buildings are sheltered under the rock, their white facades perfectly matching the shapes of the environment. Casares (Malaga)

This historic site is one of the most beautiful villages in the province, so don't miss it! It seems that Julius Caesar was cured by bathing in the thermal springs of Cáceres. He asked for the construction of this small village as a sign of gratitude.
 
The village is built on a hill, around which the white houses are built-in stairs. At the top of this incredible natural environment, several monuments are worth seeing during your visit to Casares. Such as the Church of the Incarnation and the ruins of the Castle of Caceres. Climbing up the small white streets, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Andalusian countryside.

In this white landscape built in the middle of olive fields, two buildings stand out. Above the white houses, you can see the fortress of Olvera built on the rock and the church Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación at its feet. These two monuments are the main places of interest in the village and offer magnificent views of the olive groves. From the surrounding hills, you can enjoy the best views of this white village.

Grazalema (Cadiz)

Its narrow streets display buildings with white facades, colored by the flowers hanging from the balconies of the houses. Crossed by different civilizations, it presents architectures influenced by various cultures, Roman or Arab. Grazalema a place of handicrafts where many stores offer handmade items such as carpets, baskets, and culinary specialties.
 
 The village, located in the middle of a mountainous area, is the ideal refuge for people looking for a quiet stay. Grazalema offers a wide range of activities in nature, from hiking to mountain biking, which you will enjoy with family or friends.

Zahara de la Sierra (Cadiz)

Located in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema National Park, Zahara de la Sierra overlooks the large lake El Gastor. Dominated by a castle, this medieval town has survived the centuries and shows traces of various cultures. Walking through the small white streets, discover the church of Santa Maria de Mesa and even reach the castle. From this fortress, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the green hills, a nature that attracts many outdoor enthusiasts.
