Places and activities not to be missed
Situated in the extreme Southwest of the African continent, the Southern Peninsula offers countless activities that will enchant your family and your other half. For example, you can visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and admire exceptional wildlife, including the Cape Penguin and the White-Cheeked Otter in Cape Town. The budding botanists will be amazed at the great variety of orchids, but also the geraniums, freesias, irises and daisies embellishing the park.
On the coastal side, besides swimming on the beautiful beaches of
Clifton and
Camps Bay, you will have the opportunity to swim alongside the lovely penguins at Boulders Beach, near Simon's Town. Holiday enthusiasts? Do not miss the Sunday rendezvous in Kirstenbosch Park. Apart from visiting the Botanical Garden, from November to March, the park offers open-air concerts featuring jazz, folk, classical and opera. Do not forget to taste some typical South African culinary specialties such as the delicious Bobotie, a gratin made with minced meat, milk, almonds, all scented with apricot jam and curry.
