Villa Longhouse

Add to selection

Luxury villa situated at Jimbaran, offers the kind of views that captivate and inspire inner reflection

The Home

The three-storied Longhouse, positioned high on Jimbaran Hill, offers the kind of views that captivate and inspire inner reflection. Dappled by the light of sunrise and sunset, the six bedrooms Longhouse overlooks a verdant jungle of tropical vegetation, dotted with village homes, all the way down to the bays of Benoa and Jimbaran.

The villa’s décor features elements from across the Indonesia archipelago and an extensive staff provides top service in a luxury environment.

The best place to take advantage of the remarkable vistas is on the top floor with its outdoor lounge area, infinity swimming pool and a dining room clad in wraparound windows. Should you tire of the views from
there, bales (Balinese gazebos) and daybeds abound on all three levels of the property while all six enormous, fully air-conditioned, bedrooms with ensuites also offer views worth contemplating before sliding into blue sky dreams.

Built over three levels and decorated using a combination of modern and traditional, sleek steel and antique teak, cool stone and warm wood, state of the art technology and plush soft furnishings, The Longhouse comes complete with a gym and spa room, a fully-equipped and staffed kitchen, its own wine
cellar and a villa manager to ensure your every need is met. There is also a rather convenient, beautiful wood-panelled in-house elevator and a fully equipped mini-home theatre/media room, with couches begging to be sunk into and the biggest TV screen ever seen outside of a movie theatre.

The architecture of the property is striking and the villa contains a collection of art, crafts and artifacts lovingly collected by the owners; while in the open living area, with its traditional alang-alang (thatched) roof, a series of murals tell part of the famous Ramayana story. Each of the six spacious bedroom suites is themed after a different Indonesian island and contains art, crafts and motifs from that island.

For those who wish to learn more, guides have been created for each room and the main living area, giving more information. Activities such as Balinese dance, cooking lessons, lectures and even fighting kite competitions can be organized by the staff.

The Longhouse is definitely worth a long stay. In fact, the only thing The Longhouse is short on is the number of hours in the day in which to revel in the amazing surroundings and incredible people.

Rooms

Bali

The Bali suite welcomes you. From the moment you arrive, the distinctive Balinese Door can be viewed from the Bale lounge through the long arrival hall. Enter the suite through a private study with a courtyard garden. The Bali room is the perfect combination of rustic charm and modern convenience. A massive bathroom flows seamlessly from the sleeping area while creating the right amount of privacy where it is required.  Most of the furniture in Bali is made of bamboo including a large queen size bed with mosquito net, and a desk with a view!

One outstanding element of Bali bedroom is the view. And so many features in this wonderful suite are incorporated to maximise your viewing pleasure.

Imagine stepping onto your verandah and you will experience a breathtaking sunrise to sunset panoramic view of the garden followed by the treetops and rooftops of villages below leading to two bays punctuated by the morning view of the holy mountains.

You can take a dip in your private plunge pool. The plunge pool is accessible only from Bali and is a great vantage point. Lie submerged on the specially sculpted chairs built right into the pool and watch the ever-changing spectacle.

The lower portion of the glass-encased shower is opaque for privacy, but the upper portion allows you to admire the scene below. Or opt for Bali’s outdoor bamboo shower just outside the garden door. A strategically placed cut out allows you to see all without being seen. The bathtub in Bali Bedroom has a view to die for. Imagine gazing at the twinkling lights as you soak in the evening.

The huge walk-in wardrobe will more than meet your storage requirements and is equipped with a safety box like all Longhouse bedrooms.  TV with satellite viewing is also standard.

Location

Just 20 minutes from the international airport and once just a small fishing village, Jimbaran offers an immersion into the deep roots of Bali life, away from the tourist hot spots. Located on the southernmost point of the island, the area is known for its breathtaking cliffside views, peaceful beaches, secluded coves and verdant tropical forests. Still very attached to many cultural traditions, the temple in front of Jimbaran market is a center for regular celebrations.
Situated on one of the area’s iconic rolling hilltops, The Longhouse boasts one of the most dramatic views in Jimbaran. A short downhill drive from The Longhouse takes you past the charming roadside restaurants, chic boutique shops and seafood stalls that the area is famed for, before arriving at the white sandy beach and calm waters of Jimbaran Bay. South of The Longhouse, the ruggedly beautiful Bukit Peninsula boasts soaring limestone cliffs which descend to scenic coves pounded by some of the best surf breaks in the world.
On check-in, guests are provided with our insider’s guide of “Things to do and see near The Longhouse”. Many of the staff live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
