Saint-Tropez, capital of luxury and the jet set

In the heart of Saint-Tropez are luxury villas, prestigious hotels, and other high-end services in the spirit of the Jet Set. Today, stars from all over the world come here to spend their holidays or enjoy the turquoise waters on their yachts. However, if this village, a historic fishing port, has this reputation today, it is thanks to Roger Vadim's film, "Et Dieu...créa la femme", with Brigitte Bardot. The town then became a place of decadence and glamour. The seaside resort became a meeting point for the stars of the time, such as Alain Delon and Eddie Barclay, or international stars like the Rolling Stones. Saint-Tropez became an unmissable party place.

Saint-Tropez is a place of history

Saint-Tropez is a place of history

In addition to the luxury of the city's surroundings, the famous Var town is also home to various tourist monuments and symbolic places appreciated by holidaymakers wanting authenticity and French history. Saint-Tropez has been the canvas of famous painters and authors such as Maupassant, Signac, Matisse, Boris Vian or Françoise Sagan. They all saw Saint-Tropez as a perfect muse, ideal for its architecture, light, atmosphere, and landscapes.

Take a step up by visiting the famous citadel of Saint-Tropez.  A 17thᵉ century fortification, its museum traces the town's military and naval history. During your visit, you should climb to the top of the citadel, which offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Visit the most famous bell tower of Saint-Tropez. The Saint-Anne chapel and its famous bell tower, visible from all points of view, are a must-see when visiting St-Tropez. Its colorful facades and Italian baroque style make it an architectural marvel. Do not miss the bravade in May, a festival celebrating the patron saint of the village. During the festival, the bust rests all year inside the chapel and is carried around the town.

Once encircled by 4 protective towers, the ruins of these are still visible. The towers of Portalet, Vieille, Suffren, and Jarlier are among the oldest buildings in the commune. Take a tour of the village and look for these historic towers.

For celebrity fans, discover La Mandala, Bernard Tapie's villa, or La Madrague, Brigitte Bardot's house. It should make you want to go on holiday to the Mediterranean.

Saint-Tropez, a natural charm

Saint-Tropez, a natural charm

Saint-Tropez has a unique location where the surrounding nature is worth a visit. Start with the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, one of the most beautiful in Europe. We advise you to go by boat to have the chance to observe Saint-Tropez from the sea.

Come back to dry land and follow the "Chemin des douaniers". In the middle of wild nature, discover the Cap Camarat between Ramatuelle and Saint-Tropez, the turquoise waters, and the Mediterranean vegetation.

Seaside resort rhymes with beach and sunbathing, so it is unthinkable to rest on the beaches of Saint-Tropez. The most famous: the beach of Pampelonne. This vast beach, 4.5 meters long, is a paradise of white sand, ideal for enjoying the southern sun and swimming in the clear waters of the Mediterranean.

You must try a tarte tropézienne on the port, Brigitte Bardot's favourite cake. The recipe is simple: a sugared brioche filled with a light custard. Relax on the small port, a meeting point for locals, tourists, trawlers, and yachts. It is also the ideal time to sit on the terrace of the most exclusive café in the village, the Sénéquier, which is often crowded and well worth a visit. Recognizable by its red façade and its dream location facing the moored boats.

So, would you like to enjoy this beautiful region, the Côte d'Azur? Don't hesitate Villanovo will take care of you and promise you a guaranteed luxury stay.
