Bosa, the city of a thousand colours

On the west coast, the small village of Bosa lies along the Temo, the only navigable river on the island. Colourful houses are lined up along the water's edge where a few boats are moored. In the background, perched on a hill overlooking the town, you will find Malaspina Castle. The best way to visit Bosa is to get lost in its narrow streets. Walk along the foot of the hill where the historic centre lies, discover the famous tanneries, shop and stop at a small restaurant for a taste of Italian cuisine. To learn more about the history of the city, visit one of the museums, the Museo Delle Conce (tannery museum) or the Museo Casa Deriu (craft museum).
To enjoy different views you can opt for a boat trip on the Temo. You can also climb up to the castle which houses the church of Nostra Signora di Regnos Altos and offers spectacular views of the valley, the village and the sea.

Alghero, the Barceloneta of Italy

Alghero, the Barceloneta of Italy

Don't be surprised if you hear people speaking Catalan, you are in Italy! Nicknamed the Barceloneta, it has been largely influenced by the Catalan style. Bordered by the Costa del Coral, in the northwest of Sardinia, this small town is famous for its beautiful beaches. The Lido San Giovanni beach in the town centre is the perfect place to relax after a cultural visit.
Lose yourself in the streets of Alghero and discover this unique little town that blends Catalan and Italian culture. The bastion and the towers that used to guard the city are the most visited monuments in the city. Go back in time, walk along the ramparts, and visit the museums. Don't miss the museo del corallo, a small museum about corals. Indeed, red corals are found in large numbers in Alghero.

In the vicinity you can discover the natural park of Porto Conte in Casa Gioiosa. Here you will find multimedia museums, a theme park, but also one of the most spectacular places: Capo Caccio. This rocky point stretching above the sea is home to the famous Neptune Caves.

Alghero is also surrounded by many ancient prehistoric villages that you can visit. The most famous is the Nuragic village of Palmavera.

Castelsardo, on the Costa Paradiso

Costa Paradiso has many beautiful beaches along its coast. It stretches for almost 60 km in the northwest of Sardinia. The beaches Spiaggia Li Baietti, La Sorgente and Spiaggia di Li Cossi are among the most beautiful on the island. Whether you are a nature lover, a water sports enthusiast or a history buff, a holiday on the Costa Paradisa is suitable for everyone!
One of the towns we recommend visiting on this coast is Castelsardo. It is a historical and medieval town, where research indicates a human presence since the pre-Nuragic period. The town as we know it today, however, developed in the 12th century with the construction of the castle by the Doria family of Genoa. The castle, perched on the hill, is a must-see, as are the Cathedral of Sant' Antonio Abate and the Museo dell'Intreccio.

Don't miss another attraction in Castelsardo, the famous Elephant Rock. This rock broke off from Mount Casteddazzu and landed near the 134 road, just outside Castelsardo. It owes its name to its shape, you can easily guess its trunk. This sculpture of nature will be perfect for posing and taking your best holiday photos. It is also a place of archaeological importance as this 4-metre high rock also houses a domus of janas.

Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia

Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia

Today, it is the hub of Mediterranean cruises. Roman remains, historical monuments and the seaside, discover what awaits you in Cagliari.
In one of the 4 historical quarters, Il Castello, you will see most of the places of interest. Stroll through the narrow streets, walk through Piazza Palazzo, admire the palaces and visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Elephant Tower. To the north of the district you will find the Roman amphitheatre and the National Archaeological Museum. To the south, near the city walls, stands one of the city's must-see monuments: the Bastion of Saint Remy. It stands above the Marina district and offers breathtaking views of the city. To access the lower districts, a lift in the Giardino Sotto Le Mura is available. This green space was created by the sculptor Pinuccio Sciola and is the perfect place to rest after your walk.

Continuing your walk, head towards the Marina, where you will see many boats and the sea. There are a lot of activities to do here, from boating to the Poetto beach, or from Italian cuisine to the restaurants on the seafront.

In the surrounding area, don't miss the lagoons with the pink flamingos, but also the Castle of Acquafredda, the ruins of a fortress.
