Typical Sicilian dishes

Arancini

Straight from Sicily, arancini are breaded rice balls. They can be stuffed with various foods such as tomatoes, spinach or mozzarella. Their name comes from their round shape and orange colour. Crunchy on the outside and melting on the inside, they will delight your taste buds.

Casatelle

This half-moon shaped pastry is one of Sicily's undisputed specialities. These biscuits are filled with chocolate cream and the dough is sprinkled with icing sugar.

Cannoli

These are deep-fried dough in the shape of a tube, wrapped around a filling. They can be filled with ricotta or cream and come in a variety of flavours. Originally made for Carnival, they have become a staple of traditional Italian pastry.
