What to choose: diving or snorkeling? Visit the marine world of Ibiza

With its postcard landscapes and warm climate it is a must-see destination for a dream holiday. Ibiza is famous for its crystal-clear waters which can reach temperatures of up to 26 degrees in summer. This clarity makes it the ideal place to admire the underwater life.

The biodiversity and culture of Ibiza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The marine and coastal ecosystems are part of this exceptional biodiversity, as well as the seabed grasses that support a diverse marine life.

It is possible to admire and take pictures of this world underwater. In Ibiza you will find many diving sites to visit and the island has a variety of beaches to discover. Depending on your level and wishes, you can choose to go diving or snorkelling.

Choose between snorkeling and scuba diving

Snorkelling is more accessible than scuba diving, which requires training. The landscapes visible from the practice of snorkelling or diving will obviously be different, as the depth is not the same. The equipment for diving is more important because it is necessary to stay underwater without breathing for a certain period of time and at greater depths. Snorkelling requires more basic equipment such as fins, wetsuit and mask and snorkel.

Who is it for?

You will find many dive centres or dive schools near the dive sites. Depending on the time you have available and the length of your stay, diving courses are offered in order to better meet your needs. Most schools accept children from 10 years old. The diving depth is also adapted to the age, an adult will be able to dive to a greater depth. Snorkelling is more free but excursions can also be offered.
