For New Year in Marrakech, the choice begins with the setting for your stay. In the medina, riads are arranged around an inner courtyard. Our villas to rent in Marrakech include properties in the Palmeraie, surrounded by large gardens and palm trees. Amelkis, Royal Palm and Al Maaden are quieter golf areas, while the Ourika road leads out towards the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
In Mauritius, New Year falls during the Southern Hemisphere summer. Our villas in Mauritius are located in areas including Belle Mare and Trou d’Eau Douce in the east, Bel Ombre in the south, Tamarin and Le Morne in the west, and Cap Malheureux in the north. The northern and western coasts are warmer and drier than the eastern and southern coasts. December brings high temperatures and greater humidity, with spells of rain alternating with sunny periods.
In the Alps, a fireplace provides a welcoming setting for the evening after a day’s skiing. Depending on the chalet, a sauna, hammam, hot tub or indoor pool also offers a chance to unwind after time on the slopes. Ski-in, ski-out chalets or those close to the slopes make heading out and returning on skis easier throughout your stay. Some chalets also offer house staff and chef-prepared meals, on a half-board basis or on request.
In Marrakech, a heated pool and fireplace are particularly welcome in winter. Some properties also have a hammam or spa. For New Year’s Eve, house staff and a private chef or cook make it possible to plan dinner at the villa without having to manage all the arrangements yourself.
In Mauritius, a private pool or direct beach access allows you to plan your days around swimming. Some villas also offer the services of a cook or chef to prepare New Year’s Eve dinner.
For a large family or a group of friends, all three destinations offer properties accommodating ten or more guests: chalets in the Northern Alps, villas and riads for exclusive use in Marrakech, or villas in Mauritius. In 2026, New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday 31 December, followed by New Year’s Day on Friday 1 January 2027. In the Alps, some rentals run from Saturday 26 December to Saturday 2 January, while others run from Sunday 27 December to Sunday 3 January. Arrival days and minimum stays do, however, vary by property and destination, with longer stays over the festive period at some villas in Mauritius.
