Beautiful villa by the sea with private swimming pool and tennis court, 6 double bedrooms, ideally located in Poste Lafayette. Cook and maid.

The Home

This lovely villa with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms is located on the beachfront in the East Coast of Mauritius.

The villa has 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 4 bedrooms on the first floor.

All rooms have their own bathroom with a shower and have air conditioning. Mosquito net, vape or repellent in each bedroom.
The villa has a kitchen, living room, dining room, and a verandah overlooking the lagoon.

Outside:
A 69m swimming pool and a 36m² kiosk will allow you to relax outdoors.
Under this kiosk is a table for outdoor dining and a lounge area.

The beach and the views are magnificent. In respect of the Swim, there is a shallow swim in front of the villa (ideal for kids and having a drink in the water) but if you would prefer deeper water swim for snorkeling etc one can take the villa’s boat with the handyman or one of the villa’s kayak to the deeper waters.
A tennis court, a ping pong table, bicycles and kayaks will delight young and old people.
For the boat with skipper, you just have to ask in advance for the availability.

A stereo, TV and DVD player are also available.

To note:
The property has three employees: a maid, a cook, a handyman/gardener.
The maid and the handyman work 8h/day 7/7 on flexible timetable
The cook works from 8am to 4pm 7/7

- Guarantee deposit charged by Villanovo upon reservation : 40 %
- 2nd payment 45 Days to arrival day : 60 % of total amount of reservation is due to Villanovo.
- Advance payments can be made with the following payment method : Visa - Mastercard - Carte Bleue - Bank transfer.
- On site payment can be made with the following payment method : Visa - Mastercard - Carte Bleue - Cash.
- The reservation price does not include optional incidentals or on-request items which will be added to your final bill.

- Cancellation policy is applied according to villa local time
- Cancellation occurs less than 60 Days to arrival day : 100 % of total amount of reservation is due to Villanovo.

The staff based at the Villa were really on top of everything from cleaning to cooking local food. They made our stay complete.
I think your concierge Norbert Rene was not on top of his game and failed to represent your company. He had poor directions to find the Villa, "Coastal Road Poste Lafayette", then trying to find him at night very unclear as where to meet, we waited for him at one spot for 20 mins then he gave us a hotel to meet at. As strangers to this area, i think this was quite unacceptable a definite pre meeting point would have been far better.

No guidance from him on the various activities and best people to contact, he was completely disinterested in our journey to the island. As visitors in a luxury Villa one would expect some preferred suppliers, restaurants and the like, there was none of this. As his email suggests that he is the concierge for Villanova, one would certainly have expected more from him in this regard.

As this was a birthday celebration we had asked for a chef to prepare 3 dinners. The first dinner was so bad, it was inedible. The rest of the dinners were subsequently cancelled. The house staff cooked better meals (on the non celebration evenings) than the company referred to by your concierge.

From my experience Norbert should have done more than meet us and take us to the Villa, at that a proper meeting point should have been arranged instead of various telephone exchanges. Quite honestly, he was nothing short of useless. As a hotelier If my staff were that lame,
I would not entertain their incompetence and lack of interests in my guests.

The villa is great but needs a bit of attention, beds carpets and pillows, in particular.





Answer from our local team and head Concierge, Norbert:
"I got a call at 21h56 informing me they could not find the villa. I asked them the number of the house they were close to in order to help find their way. The problem is that they were in the wrong town : Roches Noires and not in Poste Lafayette, where the house is. I called back at 22h04 to tell them to meet me at La Maison d’Eté (which is easy to find). I was there before them and they arrived just 2 or 3 minutes after and we went to the villa.

For the concierge service : There are not much restaurants around the villa. I recommended the La Maison d’Été and the hotels restaurants around the villa, as always for your guests. For activities, I proposed the boat included with the villa to go out at sea and explained that they had to pay only for the fuel.
If they were expecting more I am deeply sorry.
We actually worked on the conciergerie services and now all the activities are listed on https://www.villanovo.com/experiences/mauritius/

For the chef : The menu was sent to them and they chose the Indian meal and did not like it. The chef manager met the client and the dinner was subsequently offered, including the ingredients. As they were not satisfied at all by the chef, the manager together with the client agreed to cancel the other dinners as they preferred the cooks of the house.

I take it as a constructive critic and will try to spend more time with the clients at the check-ins.

Les parties communes notamment le salon d'été extérieur et les terrasses sont très agréables. La climatisation est bien et le tennis, les kayaks sont bien.
La maison est globalement très agréable à vivre.
Impossibilité de se baigner sur la plage devant la maison car trop de rochers .
Absence de wc au Rez de chaussée hors des chambres. La piscine est très petite.
Qualité de la prestation des repas moyenne avec des quantités souvent insuffisantes malgré nos demandes et nos courses. Nous avons du acheter de la lessive et des produits tels que le sopalin, le papier toilette le liquide vaisselle , la lessive ...etc alors que c'était soi disant compris dans le prix élevé de la location.
Qualité des literies insuffisantes : les lits sont trop vieux et dormir à deux est très difficile.
Compte tenu des moins de la maison le prix de location est beaucoup trop élevé.

COMMENTAIRES PROPRIETAIRE / OWNER'S COMMENTS

Thank you for your review. We obviously take comments and criticism very well because it enables us to improve and indeed over the last few years we have highly invested for renovating and improving the property. I have investigated your comments and reply as follows:
1. Swim in front of the house: It is true that the swim in front of the house is not perfect. However, it is possible to go 125 meters to the right or to the left of the house to have a perfect swim. In addition, we provide a motorized boat to our clients so that they can go and have a snorkel near the reef and this is free of charge. The guests have used this facility;
2. Pool: The pool is not a lap pool-it is 70 square meters ; it is a normal size pool which one would find in a villa.
3. Quality of the food: Our cook is not a chef and therefore cannot expect to have food of a standard of a chef. That being said, we never had any complaints in respect of the food; I understand that the guests requested fresh fish or other seafood which they obtained for them. They never complained when there. In respect of the quantity as well, the shopping was done by the clients themselves with the assistance of the handyman. In addition, see the comments from the quests which praises the food;
4. Breakfast etc: I understand that the clients believed that we were also provided breakfast in the morning. This is not the case-we only provide a welcoming meal and then the rest of the food is on the guests during their stay.
5. Toilet paper/cleaning materials for the house is obviously provided by us. What happens is that we provide 12 rolls of toilet paper two for each bathroom at the start of the stay. We also provide washing up liquid and washing powder. What the handy man tells me is that if and when they run out during the stay of the client then the client buys same. I will have a look at this to ensure that there is enough for the clients entire stay;
6. “Literie” insufficient: This is not possible because every room has got a change of bedsheets etc and some more to spare. In addition, when cleaning the bedsheet this is given to a service provider in the morning which returns same by the afternoon. Therefore, I cannot understand that comment which seems to be factually incorrect;
7. Bed are old: This is factually not correct because all the beds and mattresses were changed last year. The comments we have received in respect of the sleep quality have been positive. The bed size is 1.8m/2m for four rooms and then two rooms the bed size is 2m/2m.
8. Guests toilets: Each bedroom has got toilets and indeed we do not have guests toilets. There is however toilets for the staff and therefore the staff do not use the same toilets as that of the guests.
