Guests can choose between an alpine self-catered chalet and a fully catered stay. Set just 2 km from the town centre of Val d’Isère, the hamlet of Fornet offers a quieter setting away from the livelier heart of the resort. Traditional stone-and-timber architecture and peaceful streets give the village a distinctive Alpine character, while shops, restaurants and après-ski venues remain within easy reach. Selected chalets are located close to the slopes, offering convenient access to the Val d’Isère–Tignes ski area. From the peaceful hamlet of Le Fornet, guests can also explore the resorts of Val d’Isère and Tignes, both easily accessible within the wider ski area.

Le Fornet provides direct access to the Val d’Isère–Tignes ski area, with more than 300 kilometres of pistes across high-altitude terrain, open bowls and wooded descents. From gentle blue runs to demanding black pistes and glacier skiing, the area offers varied terrain for families, intermediate skiers and more experienced guests. The Fornet cable car places the wider ski network within easy reach, making it simple to begin and end days on the slopes close to the chalet.Away from downhill skiing, guests can enjoy snowshoeing, ski touring and winter walks through the quieter landscapes surrounding the hamlet.
Le Fornet also offers intimate restaurants serving traditional Savoyard cuisine. L’Edelweiss, set on the mountain, and Le Bistrot Gourmand in the hamlet reflect the area’s understated culinary character, while the wider Val d’Isère resort includes refined restaurants, welcoming bistros and lively après-ski venues.
In summer, Le Fornet becomes a peaceful base for hiking, cycling and exploring the alpine landscapes surrounding the Col de l’Iseran.
