Surrounded by the charm of southern Sicily, the property is built around a superb baglio - a welcoming inner courtyard. Decorated in traditional Sicilian style using materials such as ceramics, wood and stone, the villa offers luxurious en suite bedrooms and a magnificent swimming pool in the heart of the garden. Additional outbuildings provide comfortable accommodation for guests.

Indoors 

The villa's interiors are characterised by a warm, authentic atmosphere. The kitchen and dining room are convivial spaces where you can share gourmet moments at any time of day. The décor features traditional Sicilian touches of ceramics and wood, while the stone walls create a rustic yet elegant ambience. The bright, spacious living room opens onto a fully-equipped veranda that seamlessly links the indoors with the outdoors.


Outdoors 

The exterior of the villa is truly enchanting. As soon as you enter, the baglio provides a peaceful central space in which to relax. The living room veranda opens onto a beautifully manicured garden, at the centre of which is a sparkling swimming pool (5x10m), ideal for cooling off on sunny days. The numerous terraces provide plenty of space to relax, sunbathe or enjoy a cool drink, while admiring the surrounding countryside.

5-6 vehicles can be parked on the property.


Location

Geographically ideally located, this villa lies between Modica, a town rich in history and culture, and the sea, offering easy access to the secluded beaches of southern Sicily. The nearby family mill adds a touch of local charm, and the surrounding area offers plenty to do, from country walks to discovering architectural treasures and sampling Sicilian cuisine. It's the perfect base from which to explore this magnificent region while enjoying the tranquillity of the countryside.

- The reservation price does not include optional incidentals or on-request items which will be added to your final bill.

- Cancellation policy is applied according to villa local time
- For all cancellations, the initial guarantee deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellation occurs less than 45 Days to arrival day : 100 % of total amount of reservation is due to Villanovo.

Comments

We thought the villa was extremely beautiful and tastefully decorated, pairing traditional and modern styles wonderfully.
The kitchen was well equipped (although the glasses and plates were awkwardly in the dining room) and it was a joy to cook in. It was lovely the villa left food and drink for us on arrival, which was kind.
The heated pool was very lovely, and the garden very beautiful. We loved the hammock.
We liked the automatic lights turning on in the evening, that was a very nice touch.
The outside kitchen was really cool but the outside BBQ wasn't great, we would recommend a gas BBQ if they are open to that.
The parking area and courtyard were lovely too.
The uniqueness of the rooms was really special, the furniture and tasteful touches in them were really exceptional.
The location was great in terms of being near Modica, Ragusa, and the seaside, and not too far from Catania Airport either.
We really appreciated Villanovo helping us with the car hire.
Pool heating - as we mentioned at the time, a clear cost was not outlined on the website (it said consumption only, which would be much more affordable than EUR100/day) and days before arrival we were quoted an exorbitant fee. We appreciated very much that the villa moved on this.

Flour mill - when we arrived we were very surprised by the size of the flour mill next to the villa! The way it was described on the website ("the nearby family mill adds a touch of local charm") made it sound like something much more charming and peaceful, when it is really a factory. We suggest making the description more accurate on the website.

Mid-week cleaning - This is the thing we disliked the most, we were told the villa would be cleaned half way through our two week stay. It was not mentioned to us that the communal areas would not be cleaned. When we raised this we first received feedback that we had left a mess, which was not the case, and that the mid-stay clean only included changing bed linen and towels and a quick cleaning of the bathrooms. This was not at any point beforehand made clear to us, despite me enquiring about cleaning several times. We also asked for the cleaner to remove the two additional baby cots and high chair, and she did not remove them.

Rubbish - We understand you have to remove your own rubbish in Italy but it was a frustrating task, and really it would have been appreciated if we hadn't had to do it at check out or between the two weeks.

We would suggest the villa purchases plastic glasses for around the pool - there is a sign saying not to use glass around the pool, which we didn't, but no alternative was offered.
