The neighbourhood of Matoyianni

Located in the heart of Mykonos, these atypical lanes are the ideal place to stroll and shop. You will be able to wind up between these streets, which consist of the whiteness of the houses, the bright colours of the shutters and the window borders, but also the bougainvilleas that overflow the windowsill... a getaway in the heart of authentic beauty and character in the Cyclades, and in particular, Mykonos.
Here you will find many small shops to bring home the perfect souvenirs of your travels to your friends and family. For a visit in a less busy and calm atmosphere, go around 10pm where the lanes empty somewhat.

Church of Paraportiani

You will find this wonder of the time near the port from which the boats leave in the direction of Delos. You will find the oldest church in all of Mykonos, a real hidden treasure in this avant-garde island of modernity in the Cyclades. These four whitewashed chapels are very representative of the Greek architecture of the time, namely the sixteenth century.
An interesting anecdote to know before going there: its name comes from "paraporti" which means "small door". Depending on the time you visit this building, the church is draped in different colours, a true spectacle of nature to which you must absolutely attend.

Mykonos is really a beautiful island for its beaches and turquoise waters that will make you dream. Jewels, terracotta statuettes or tools of peasants complete the astonishing collection in this museum which should delight both the young and the curious.

Little Venice

This is one of the last wild places in Mykonos with the waves that come crashing on closer to the bright white houses. The name comes from the proximity of the houses to the sea but also from the influence that the Venetian Republic had in this area of the Cyclades.
Be careful though as it is one of the oldest tourist sites on the island, so depending on the period of time you are visiting this charming little area, you may encounter more or less people.
However, do not hesitate to stop for a drink or a coffee on the terrace while contemplating this unique view of Mykonos.
