If, like us, you have a passion for chasing the most beautiful landscapes in the world, don't wait any longer and discover our favourite deserts, where you will feel minuscule in front of their immensity and their breathtaking beauty. Whether in Mongolia, the Sahara or the United States, they all have unique characteristics that make them a must-see.

Discover the Most Beautiful Deserts in the World

The Gobi Desert

Stretching between northern China and southern Mongolia, the Gobi Desert is the largest in the world and includes much of Mongolia. This desert is particularly appreciated for the diversity of its landscapes as it offers not only sand dunes but also beautiful mountains and canyons. In addition to the exceptional nature that you will observe there, many rare species such as gazelles, argalis or wild donkeys have made it their home. Several nomads cross the desert every day with whom you may have the opportunity, during an excursion, to talk about their culture and traditions.

The desert of Wadi Rum in Jordan

This desert, which is a favorite destination for tourists visiting Jordan, is a real must-see whose red sand makes its unique. Indeed, it is one of the only deserts in the world whose sand has such an intense color. The desert of Wadi Rum is also endowed with sumptuous natural arches as well as cliffs and caves. The beauty of this desert is so unique that it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 2011. It is a place inhabited by both animal species and man for the many water sources it has. There are many ways to visit this desert, be it on camelback, hiking or by flying over it in a hot-air balloon.

The Sahara Desert

The Sahara is surely the most famous desert in the world, and there is good reason for it to have such a reputation. Stretching over 8 million square kilometres, the desert is only 20% sand, the rest being mountains, rocky areas and plateaus. In particular, the Sahara covers nearly 10 countries, of which Morocco is the main starting point for visiting it. So take advantage of a Moroccan stay to go on an excursion in the desert, where two different areas will be proposed to you: that of Merzouga and that of Zagora. The main difference between these two deserts is that the Zagora region is more arid but also closer to the tourist city of Marrakech. As for the Merzouga region, you will find more dunes, some of which reach more than 150 meters and will fill your eyes.

The Mojave Desert in the United States

Located in the western United States, in California, the Mojave Desert offers an exceptional variety of colours. Indeed, as the day progresses and the sunshine it enjoys, the landscapes go from ochre to pink but also from yellow to green, all blending with the blue sky during the day. This 40,000 square kilometre desert is notably known for being home to the famous Death Valley. It is however very little frequented by tourists despite its spectacular beauty where one meets there dried lakes, dunes but a volcanic area and an abandoned mine. The Mojave Desert is home to a large number of plant species, estimated at 200 such as cacti and succulents. This desert is therefore an unmissable place to visit if you want to spend a stay in the United States
