The town of Supetar and its port
The main gateway that connects Brač to the city of Split, this village of 4000 inhabitants is the largest on the island. You can relax on its bay, from which a huge white dome can be seen. This dome is on top of the family mausoleum Petrinovič. This monument was made by Toma Rosandič, considered one of the most important sculptors in Serbia. The best way to visit the city is to get lost in the streets. You will find various places of interest to discover in Supetar. You can visit several churches, the Church of the Annunciation, the Church of St. Nicholas and the Church of St. Luke. Next to the Church of the Annunciation you will find the Church Museum (Crkveni Muzej) with a collection of religious objects and the Clock Tower (Leroj).

Roman quarries in Splitska
Splitska is a small harbour village on the north coast of the island, a few kilometres from Supetar. Its port was used for the export of the famous white stones of the island for the construction of Split Palace. The quarries from which the stones come can be visited. One of them is called Rasohe, this quarry houses a portrait of Hercules, a famous mythological hero, which is engraved in the stone. Close to this village you will discover Ložisca, another village with a famous landscape, with its tower and sloping houses.

The remains of Postira
This small village is situated in a protected bay in the middle of the wine growing area. It is home to one of the most popular beaches of Brač, the beach of Lovrečina. Long attacked by pirates, you will find many fortified buildings. You will also find various archaeological sites including the remains of a 6th century basilica (Arheološko nalazište Lovrećina), located near the beach. One of Postira's must-see places is probably the Mirje, a former convent whose remains are located at the top of a hill.

Bol, the oldest coastal town on the island.
Situated on the coast, the town of Bol faces another island, Hvar. It is famous for its seaside resort and numerous beaches, one of which is Zlatni Rat Beach. This beach is unique in that it does not run along the coast, but perpendicular to it. Its turquoise waters, white sand and pine forest make it one of the favourite beaches for tourists. Many sports enthusiasts gather here to go diving or pedal boating. Along the beaches you will come across small coves and you will reach the Glavica peninsula.

You can also stroll through the narrow streets and discover the charm of Bol, visit the market or stop at a restaurant to taste Croatian gastronomy. If you wish to visit the historical monuments, the Renaissance Palace (Palača) is located opposite the harbour and houses a modern art gallery. If you are curious, don't miss a visit to the Kuca u Kuci, a house that encompasses another smaller house. Another place to discover is the Chapel of St. John and Theodore (Crkvica Svetih Ivana i Teodora), it is the oldest church in the city and dates back to the 5th century.

An island for sports enthusiasts
You can choose from a multitude of choices for exploring the island, whether by bike, hiking, or boat. Here are some of the possible excursions to discover the most beautiful places on Brač.

Vidova gora Mountain
To discover the most beautiful landscapes of the island, organise a hike on the highest mountain of the Adriatic islands. Your efforts will be rewarded by the wonders of nature. Two of the most famous attractions of Brać are also located on these slopes: the Dragon Cave and the Pustinja Blaca.

The Dragon Cave
Just a few kilometres away in Murvica, you will discover this unusual cave. This place is surrounded by different myths and legends. It owes its name to a sculpture of a dragon carved into the rock. This deep cave is divided into 4 rooms and houses a chapel and an altar. On the walls you can admire various shapes and sculptures in the rock. You can reach the Dragon's Grotto by a path, if you start walking from Bol you should allow about 2 hours of walking.

The Pustinja Blaca
Housed in a gorge, this former monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was the refuge of hermits fleeing the Ottoman invasion. Don't miss this 16th century monument carved into the rock. Called the hermitage of the desert, it was erected by Glagolitic priests. To visit it you have to go on foot, so it is best to organise a hike.

The Blue Grotto
Located on the island of Biševo, it is accessible only by sea. If you want to discover this splendid nature, you will need to book a boat trip. From the outside it looks like any other cave, but once you enter the opening you are plunged into the blue. The cave owes its name to the sunlight that passes through it and reflects off the water. This gives it its electric blue colour.
