Where to rent a villa in Corsica?

Very popular among holidaymakers, Corsica offers a wide variety of landscapes and many activities. The beauty island is divided into two regions, Upper Corsica and Southern Corsica. Depending on the programme and your expectations, it is difficult to choose the best area to visit: lazing on heavenly beaches, visiting picturesque villages or hiking in the mountains...

If the stay is long enough, the ideal is to discover both regions!

THE HAUTE-CORSE

THE HAUTE-CORSE

Northern Corsica is a quieter and more unspoilt area, ideal for nature lovers and relaxation: you can visit wild and unspoilt beaches (Algajola, Plage de Lozari, Plage de Bodri, Arinella and Plage de Loto), enjoy fascinating views and make excursions inland.

Beautiful unspoilt beaches

Among the best known in Haute-Corse, the beach of Barcaggio in Ersa is particularly appreciated for its view of the island of Giraglia. But also the beach of Tamarone for its wild decor, the beaches of Bodri and Ghjunchitu for their turquoise waters and the grey pebble beach of Nonza, accessible thanks to a staircase of 500 steps.

A sportsman's paradise

The northern part of Corsica is also very popular among sports enthusiasts: more mountainous than southern Corsica, you can go hiking, climbing and, for the more courageous, climbing on Mount Cinto! For strong sensations, don't hesitate to discover the Agriates desert by 4x4 or on horseback. Water sports enthusiasts will not be outdone: enjoy an excursion to the Ile Rousse to discover the sea bed, accompanied by a state-qualified instructor.

History lovers?

For those who love history and ancient heritage, opt for the villages of the Balagne, in Haute-Corse. Immerse yourself in the past with these centuries-old villages, nestled on the mountainside and discover a rich and preserved historical heritage: Venzolasca and its unobstructed view, Lumio and its pink granite houses or Loreto-di-Casinca and its village of character.

SOUTH CORSICA

SOUTH CORSICA

The South is lively and paradisiacal but also more touristic. This is where you will find the most beautiful beaches like Palombaggia, Rondinara and Santa Giulia. In South Corsica, there is something for everyone: natural sites, protected reserves, tourist visits and breathtaking landscapes.

The south of Corsica is divided between the west coast, which joins Calvi and Ajaccio, and the southern tip.

Breathtaking natural sites

In Southern Corsica, there are many breathtaking natural sites, such as the Lavezzi Islands, located south-east of Bonifacio, a real paradise in the middle of the Mediterranean.

The Cavu valley with its natural pools is another impressive natural area. Just after the village of Taglio Rosso, you can also go hiking along the river in an idyllic setting!

Heavenly beaches

The paradisiacal beaches of the southern part of the island will charm you. It is difficult to name only a few beaches in South Corsica, but our favourites are: The famous beach of Palombaggia with its umbrella pines and turquoise water, the beach of Rondinara in the shape of a shell, the beach of Saleccia near Saint-Florent for its dunes and its pine forest, the long sandy beach of Santa Giulia and the white beach of Roccapina bordered by the maquis

A very lively nightlife

South Corsica is the perfect region for those who like to have a drink in trendy places, or dance the night away. Among our top addresses is the famous Via Notte, an open-air disco in Porto-Vecchio, which hosts famous DJs every summer. The B'52 is also an excellent cocktail bar on the port of Bonifacio. L'Alta Rocca, a really good wine bar in Porticcio or even Le Corsaire, a bar facing the sea in Propriano.

Where to rent a villa in Corsica?

To sum up, Haute-Corse is generally wilder and more unspoilt, and South Corsica more famous for its heavenly beaches. However, these two regions are of course not just about that... Grab your swimming suits and walking shoes and set off to discover the island of beauty for a holiday full of fun and adventure!
