Discovering honey

Nature is abundant in the south of France, and the various natural parks are full of different flowers. It is therefore quite natural that the bees go there and collect the nectar used to make the precious honey. A natural and sweet product that everyone loves. Visit a honey factory and discover the different flavours of this traditional product from the south of France.
 
Beekeepers for 5 generations, the Rucher des Alpilles is a family honey factory in Saint-Rémy de Provence. The hives are located in the Alpilles Regional Nature Park, where the bees collect nectar from different varieties of flowers. These conditions make it a high quality honey and an authentic product of the beautiful region of Provence. Different flavours of honey are produced, lavender honey, Camargue flower honey, honey from the Alpilles, honey is even available in the form of confectionery. It is a must for the region and an ideal gift for your loved ones. It is possible to book a visit to the honey factory to find out more about this traditional product. For those with a sweet tooth, a tasting is offered during the visit!

Olive oil is an integral part of the gastronomy of the South of France. Why not visit an olive grove?
Nestled in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park is La Bastide du Laval, an olive grove and oil mill. Organic cultivation, hand harvesting and extraction of the oil at the mill and a PDO product, make this a perfect product. 
 
It is possible to visit this olive grove of 4,000 trees located in a Designation of Origin area. With the help of an audio guide, you can walk through the olive groves and finish your visit with a tasting of the oils and wines. Guided tours are also available if you wish. Discover the history of the olive grove through a presentation of the extraction methods and a guided tour of the mill. End your visit with a tasting of the oils and wines. Don't forget to visit the small shop where you can buy local products, tapenade, olives, oils, wines and delicatessen.

Travel the Lavender Route

Lavender blooms every year from June to August. Breathe in the fresh air and the sweet scent of lavender, you are in Provence. This sensory route is ideal for enjoying the natural surroundings while arousing your curiosity. The Lavender Routes are crossed by lavender museums, distilleries and small producers' estates. You can download and print a map with the different routes and places of interest on the Lavender Routes website. These visits will complete your walk through the blue fields. As you travel along the Lavender Route you will pass through various small southern villages and you will immediately be transported into the Provencal atmosphere. Your children will be able to play in the fields, and the landscape will be worthy of a postcard. Beautiful memories that you can immortalise in photos.

You can't go to the south without enjoying the Mediterranean Sea! For a change from the usual aquatic activities, go out to sea in search of fish. This activity is rooted in the country's culture and the Côte d'Azur is the ideal place. Accompanied by a professional fisherman, go on an adventure and discover the art of fishing. Nice, Saint-Tropez and Beaulieu sur Mer are the best places to go to sea. Different tours are available, you can go to Delta Fishing in Port Saint Louis or Nice Boat Tour in Nice for example.
 
After a long trip on the sea, relax on the beach or go to a small restaurant by the sea to finish this magical day.
