The Calanques de Marseille: jewel of the south of France

The Calanques, covering an area of 85km2, with its rich flora and fauna and its breathtaking scenery are a real refuge for the people of Marseille who come here to sunbathe and walk in the shade of the pine trees. This place is also very popular with tourists in the summer.
The Calanques are a set of rocky cliffs and bays, forming essentially creeks with turquoise water. The name comes from "calancas" in Occitan, which means "cove".
