Belonging to the beautiful Cyclades archipelago, Mykonos is one of the most popular destinations in Greece and best known for its lively nightlife and cosmopolitan atmosphere that attracts tourists of all ages and nationalities. However, Mykonos is also home to beautiful beaches, some of which are rocky and sandy, some of which are lively and quiet, and some offer snorkeling opportunities. You will discover many natural and preserved coves, ideal to rest far from the fervor of Mykonos.

So, today, let's head for Mykonos to discover these real little Greek jewels that are the beaches of Mykonos.

Agios Sostis Beach: a wild beach

Agios Sostis Beach: a wild beach

If you are looking for a place that is still relatively untouched by mass tourism, whether you are a couple or a family, the beach of Agios Sostis, just ten kilometers north of Chora, is for you. It is situated in a bay on the north coast and is relatively far from the hustle and bustle. The only buildings near the beach are the chapel of St. Sostis
The only buildings near the beach are the chapel of St. Sostis, which gave its name to the beach, and a small, popular restaurant. It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. As such, bring your snorkeling gear as there are shallow reefs with colorful fish to be seen underwater.

Agrari Beach: a pearl in the south of Mykonos

Agrari beach is known as one of the most peaceful and comfortable places in Mykonos. Covered by sand and golden pebbles, this beach has everything to please. Much quieter than its neighbor Elia beach, this beach will soothe you with its turquoise water and wild nature. It makes it a perfect beach for families who want to swim in a dream setting without being disturbed by the parties that can start as early as 4 pm on some beaches.

Elia Beach: a sporty beach

Elia Beach: a sporty beach

A large sandy beach in the southeast of the island, Elia Beach is characterized by its majestic cliffs, its bright blue sea, and its rugged, arid environment. It is now a beach for celebrities, so don't be surprised if you come across a celebrity on the same sandbank as yourself! There are plenty of water sports activities on offer: water skiing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. The atmosphere is festive but more relaxed than other beaches in Mykonos.

Ornos Beach: the festive beach

Ornos Beach: the festive beach

Ornos is the most popular beach on Mykonos. Nestled in a cove in the heart of the island's nightlife, it makes for a pleasant swim due to the calm water.  But Ornos is a busy beach with many restaurants, bars, and shops on the seafront, which makes it friendly and less protected. This beach is particularly suitable for water sports enthusiasts because of the many activities on offer.

Kapari Beach: the hidden beach

Close to the famous beach of Agios Ioannis, there is a small beach that is still relatively unknown to mass tourism: Kapari beach. A real jewel of the island, it can be reached on foot from its neighbor, Agios Ioannis, and is ideal for enjoying a splendid view of Delos and admiring the sunsets of Mykonos. This charming little cove is sure to please.

Psarou Beach: the VIP beach

Psarou Beach: the VIP beach

Psarou is one of the most famous and renowned bays on the island, located five kilometers from Mykonos town, south of the island. It attracts a very select clientele and enjoys great popularity with celebrities. As such, many yachts stop off here for an afternoon. Bordered by arid hills, the beach is beautiful and benefits from a permanent animation thanks to the bars-restaurants there.
