The Cascada de la Cola de Caballo, Huesca

Located in the Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, this is one of the most popular routes in the Pyrenees. The trail starts in the Ordesa meadow. Follow the river and discover different waterfalls, the most famous being the Cola de Caballo. It is a 100-metre high waterfall that looks like a horse's tail. Amidst the rocks and boulders, you can soak your feet and relax before heading back on your way. Explore this beautiful UNESCO heritage valley and discover breathtaking scenery. It's an easy hike but can be long (17.5km round trip).
 

El Nacimiento del Rio Asón, Cantabria

Start from the small village of Asón, in the Soba Valley, and follow the marked path. It is a mostly flat and easy route that runs alongside the waterfall. This route passes through the Collados del Asón Natural Park. At the end of the route, you will find the magnificent Cascada Caliagua, also known as the nacimiento del río Asón. You can extend your day by visiting the Centro de Interpretación de La Gándara. Located nearby, you can learn more about the conservation of ecosystems. In addition, there are many small relaxation areas, playgrounds, bars and picnic areas.
 

The Colores Waterfall, La Palma 

The Colores Waterfall is located in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park on the island of La Palma. It is one of the main attractions of the park and is unique in its kind. At 6 metres high, its walls are naturally painted with multiple colours, which gave it its name. The waterfall displays orange, yellow and green tones which come from the minerals contained in the water. To reach this jewel of nature, you can follow different paths in the park. The Cascada de Colores is a must-see in the Spanish landscape.

Chorro Grande, Segovia

From San Ildefonso, on the Camino del Chorro street, head towards the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. This is a popular trail and an easy hike that you can do with your children. Walk through the pine forest and discover the flora and fauna of the park. Marvel at the rocky landscape until you reach the Chorro Grande. This is the highest waterfall in the Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama, reaching 80 metres in height. The park is the perfect place to continue your exploration in the middle of nature.
 

La Vía Verde de la Sierra Norte, Seville

This route starts in San Nicolás del Puerto, a former mining village. Start by exploring Cerro del Hierro, an archaeological site that has been mined for iron since Roman times. Then, to reach the waterfalls, simply follow the Sierra Norte Greenway, an old railway line. Surrounded by the Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park, you will be in the middle of nature, among oaks and ash trees. Finally, you will arrive at the famous Huéznar waterfalls. It is not possible to swim in the waterfalls, but there are bathing areas. Enjoy this idyllic setting over a picnic with your family.

The Xallas Waterfall, A Coruña 

Make your way to Monte Pindo and cross this rocky, green landscape. On your way, you will reach the Ezaro viewpoint, a viewpoint with a breathtaking panorama. Once you reach this viewpoint, you will get closer to the waterfall. The Cascada del Xallas is more commonly known as the Cascada de Ezaro and is the most visited waterfall in Galicia. It owes its success to a peculiarity, this waterfall descends from an unusual place. In fact, the river Xallas forms this magnificent waterfall when it flows into the sea. It is an unspoilt spot facing the ocean, far from development and transport. Enjoy a peaceful spot in an idyllic setting. It is easily accessible from the Museum of Electricity via a footbridge.
 

The Diablo Waterfall, Cáceres

The Garganta de Gualtaminos gorge is located between Madrigal de la Vera and Villanueva de la Vera. From Villanueva de la Vera, follow the small wooded path near the riverbank. Signs point the way to the Cascada del Diablo. Once you arrive at the Cascada del Diablo, you can jump into the water and cool off. Above this natural pool there is a lookout point, accessible via stone steps. It is specially designed and offers exceptional views. Sit back and enjoy the 20 metre high waterfall and the surrounding nature.
