This extraordinary property is located in the first hills around Lucca. This dream place is a laboratory, a place of experimentation and meditation for the owners, Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui, both architects, artist and designer. The panoramic view from Villa Farfalla is extraordinary. You can perceive the entire city of Lucca and its walls. The property consists of 10 hectares of olive groves and woods located on the nearest Lucca hills, 200 meters above the city,  just at 10 minutes. An helicopter landing area is also available upon request on the property.


Bedrooms

The main villa sleeps 6 persons. 1 additional adult or 2 children can sleep on a sleeper sofa. In total there are 3 double bedrooms on the 2nd floor.

- Bedroom 1: master bedroom suite with 1 bed (180 cm x 200 cm), TV and openable roof. Full bathroom with sunken tub and walk-in shower, recessed wardrobe with dressing area, openable roof. Fitness area with training TV, AC. Separate WC openable roof.
- Bedroom 2: Double bedroom with 1 bed (160 cm x 200 cm), AC and recessed wardrobe 4.
- Bedroom 3: Double bedroom with 1 bed (160 cm x 200 cm), AC, recessed wardrobe and access to upper 200sq/m terrace area.
- Bathroom for bedrooms 2 and 3 with double sinks, large walk-in shower and WC.
- Sitting Room: Sofa bed (140 cm x 200 cm) for 1 adult / 2 children, open roof, AC, recessed wardrobe containing reading books and safe, access to upper terrace area and openable roof.

The Guest House sleeps 6 guests. 1 additional adult or 2 children can sleep on a sleeper sofa.

- Bedroom 4 ( ground floor): bed (160cm), wardrobe closet, AC, private terrace.
- Bedroom 5 (ground floor): bed (160cm), wardrobe closet, AC.
- Bathroom for the bedrooms 1 and 2, bathroom with double sink, walk-in shower and WC.
- Living room on 1st floor with sleeper sofa (140x200 cm) for 1 adult or 2 children.
- Bedroom 6 (2nd floor): Master Suite, 1 bed (160 cm) and a separate room with Sleeping sofa (1,40m), wardrobe closet, small fridge, AC, openable roof.
- Bathroom for the master bedroom, with walk-in shower, double sink and WC.

Note :  in addition to air conditioning, there is underfloor cooling in all the bedrooms.


Interiors

The villa (350 sqm), the guest house (175 sqm) and the pool are real jewels of contemporary architecture and technology immersed in the Tuscan nature.
Both buildings are clinging on a hill of white marble like the one of Carrara located nearby.
The Architecture of the two properties is very bright and transparent. It is thought in total harmony with nature which is omnipresent. Another feature, the iron shutters that shade in summer and catch the light deeply in winter.
Sculptures from the wife Donia Maaoui are exposed inside and outside both properties.
The interior is organized around a spectacular staircase represented as a red dazzling evening dress. Rock of white marble is present in the house and appears on the three floors. Architecture, furniture, lamps, sculptures, almost everything has been conceived, designed and custom made for the villa by their owners.

Outdoors

- The Hydraulic roof : The two wings of the roof of the villa open at a 30 ° angle like the wings of a butterfly. The two wings totaling 170 square meters open with 6 pistons. This is the first house in the world with a hydraulic roof. This allows natural ventilation to cool the house and brings to the villa a very unique magic sensation of literally sleeping under the stars.
- Ecological Architecture : The villa has been awarded one of the most ecological and exceptional homes in Italy by TV channel "National Geographic" on the show "Case piu verde d'Italia", it also won the Architectural award “EXPO STONE AWARD 2015” together with the “FREEDOM TOWER WORLD TRADE CENTER” in New York and the “BRIDGE TOWER” in London.
- The pool : The pool is overflowing, it has an area of 70 square meters, is 26 meters long and has a depth of 1.20 meters . It includes an area of 16 meters in length for swimming, another larger area for playing and an hydro massage area. At any point in the pool, as well as from its terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Lucca.


Note : The street coming to the house is a little bit more 2.10m large. Virtually all cars can pass ( if necessary, with closed mirrors for wide cars), a Porsche cayenne or a Range Rover for example can pass. Instead, a camping car will be too wide.
