Villa Monsummano is an independent villa nestled in the middle of a property of over 18 acres of woods and olive groves, situated on Mount Albano’s last Western slope. Renovated in the respect of bio-architecture, the villa is elegantly equipped with antique furniture, ornaments, paintings etc... While keeping all the assets and comfort a modern can offer. Due to the owner’s passion for antiques, which includes mainly ornaments from the 15th century up to the French Liberty Period, the villa, for more than 30 years, has been furnished with various pieces, all acquired from auctions sales, antique dealers and fairs from Tuscany’s surrounding towns such as Lucca and Pistoia.
Indoors
Blessed with a large 15th century fireplace with lounges and armchairs, the villa’s spacious living room, which can sit up to 14 peoples, also offers, in addition to a stunning view of the garden and pool, beautiful views of Monsummano Alto’s original town. The big Tuscan kitchen, which can be found through another lounge room, is equipped with its own fireplace and antique-style oven. On the same floor, two bathrooms, the first one, mixing modern design and antique looks, and the second one, a double bathroom which leads to a covered veranda with a sitting area and a view of the pool and hillside towns.
On the second floor, along the entrance’s stone staircase, which is benefitting of a wrought iron 17th century banister, you can find two bedrooms. The floor is decorated with beautiful cotto tiles depicting the Florentine Lily and imitation bronze cotto rosettes painted on the ceiling. The sleeping quarters are constituted of three bedrooms, the main one, of 3 square meters, has its own bathroom equipped with a Turquish bath/shower, and is overlooking the Monsummano Alto. The second bedroom, smaller than the main one, offers a view of the valley, olive groves, woods and pools, and shares a bathroom, which is benefitting of a Jacuzzi bath and shower with light and aroma therapy, with the third bedroom. The said third bedroom has two single beds than can form a double bed if necessary.
Outdoors
Covered with typical local stone, the outside of the villa is surrounded by a garden looking over a 360° view of vegetation such as woods and olive groves, hils side towns and hills covered by chestnuts and cypress threes. The towers of Serravalle Pistoiese and the mountains of Abetone, known as famous skiing resort, can be seen on the north side of the villa. On the south-eastern side can be found the characteristic hillside town of Monsummano Alto, while the front road of the villa leads only to a handful of houses, immersing the residence in a peaceful silence.
The pool situated in the garden, measuring 8 x 16 meters, is equipped with a large hydro-massage area that could welcome up to 8 peoples. The pool is benefitting of a special depuration system guarantying maximum hygiene, in addition to the automatic PH value and chlorine maintaining system.
It is surrounded by a small wood with armchairs and tables, ideal for relaxation and the swimming area, a terrace awaits, where you will find tables, chairs, divans, umbrellas.
Service and staff
You can enjoy lunch or dinner in the garden “al fresco” while a cook will prepare dishes for you. There is the possibility for you to have live music for any kind of party, a great duo being available and playing all kind of music from the 70’s and 80’s, and you will have the opportunity to choose within a large range of rhythms for dancing. The villa also offers the option of background music lo liven up your evening, happy hour, dinner etc.
Location
The Monsummano villa is encircled by an area known as the Valdinevole, offering all the natural and artistic aspects of the Tuscan countryside. Strategically placed away from the city, the villa, however, has access to all Tuscany’s must-see spots, 95% of them reachable within an hour and a half by car.
You will also be able to reach towns such as Montecatini Terme, Pisa, or Florence in 50 minutes by train. The surroundings of the villa offers multiple touristic spots, such as Giusti Grottos and their hot thermal baths, the not-to-be-missed Romanic churches and so many more.
Multiples activities are also at your disposal, such as horse riding, three 18 hole golf courses, called La Piavaccia, Le Pavoniere and l’Ugolino. You can also practice tennis, bowling, clay-pigeon shooting or trekking and biking on the regions numerous mountains tracks. For the less adventurous, you can enjoy the sandy beach, situated 50 meters away from the residence, or the many vineyards located within a range of 15/20 km, with the possibility of wine and food tasting.
