In the west of Greece, you will find the beautiful island of Zakynthos, the southernmost of the Ionian Islands and one of the most beautiful in Greece. The atmosphere, the landscapes, the climate and above all the magnificent beaches contribute to make it a paradise for all holidaymakers who come to spend a few days here. So don't wait any longer.

Head to Zakynthos to discover the most beautiful beaches of the island and the world.

Shipwreck Beach (Wreck Bay)

Shipwreck Beach (Wreck Bay)

Worthy of a movie scene, Shipwreck Beach is one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece and the world.  Wreck Bay is a bay in the northwestern part of the island, named after the cigarette smuggling ship stranded on its sand since 1983. This white sandbank is surrounded by - pure blue water- seems almost artificial- and gigantic cliffs. To reach this corner of paradise, you must take a water taxi from the nearby port of Agios Nikolaos, Porto Vromi, Saint Nikolaos Volimes, or from the port of Zakynthos town. Access to the beach is forbidden in case of bad weather. If you want to see the beach from the top of the cliffs at more than 200 meters and have a breathtaking view, go to Shipwreck instead.

Gerakas Beach

Gerakas Beach

Looking for a wild beach? Gerakas beach is the place to be in Zakynthos. Situated in the most unspoiled natural setting, near Cape Geraki on the Vasilikos Peninsula, this beach is home to the nesting Caretta Caretta turtles every year between May and September. This beach is only accessible at certain times of the day and responsibility must be exercised so as not to disturb the animals' environment.
It is one of the few completely sandy beaches on the island- ideal for families and children who can swim in the shallow water without any risk. Perhaps you will spot a turtle?

Tsilivi Beach

Relatively close to the capital, Tsilivi beach is much more lively and will suit both families and groups of friends, as it offers many facilities. With a shoreline almost 40 meters wide, children will enjoy a wonderful playground, while adults will have access to all kinds of water activities. There are also bars and restaurants along the beach to satisfy all your desires.

Dafni Beach

Dafni Beach

Located in the southern part of the island, about twenty kilometers from Zakynthos town, Dafni beach is much quieter because, like Gerakas beach, it is a beach reserved in part for turtles to lay their eggs. As such, it is protected from mass tourism and is rarely crowded. Its warm waters make it a perfect spot for snorkeling to observe the richness of the Ionian Sea. It is also a beach suitable for families with small children.

Banana Beach

If you want to enjoy a lively beach atmosphere, head for the banana beach. This long sandy beach, which looks like a banana from the air, has several facilities combined with an exceptional natural setting: Jet-skiing, pedal boats, inflatable games, etc... are all activities offered on the beach, which contribute to making this place popular with young people. The beach is also popular at night for parties.

Porto Limnionas

Porto Limnionas

Porto Limnionas is a beach unlike any other, easily accessible from Agios Leon in the western part of Zakynthos. It is actually more of a rocky beach where you can have fun jumping off but it is still quite touristy and therefore offers suitable facilities, including a restaurant bar with sunbeds on the heights of Porto Limnionas. This small picturesque place has unique landscapes and a warm sea, perfect for those who want to try snorkeling.
