Gaztelugatxe

Gaztelugatxe

Do you remember the scene associated with this stunning place? This breathtaking footbridge that connects the islet to the land is iconic. It is the islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe located in the beautiful Basque Country in northern Spain, not far from the amazing city of Bilbao. The islet is situated in the Bay of Biscay. If you remember the wonderful path that leads to a castle on the show, in reality it actually leads to an equally amazing medieval church. Take a hike up to the church along this narrow old stone path in the middle of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea to take some fabulous Instagram worthy pictures.

Cáceres

Cáceres

Cáceres is a city in the west of Spain, in the region of Extremadura. It is an ancient city that dates back to middle ages. The city is fortified, and its walls stand from medieval times. In the city, you will see old castles, cathedrals and many ancient ruins that have all been part of the series many times. The architecture is Moorish with delicate stone carvings that are sure to catch your gaze. Cáceres is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, relatively untouched, and certainly has much to offer for exploration.

Castillo de Zafra

Castillo de Zafra

Located at a height of 1400 meters on a sandstone in the province of Guadalajara in the community of Castilla - La Mancha in Spain, this castle has been called "the tower of joy" in the series. It is an old castle dating from the 12th century. The castle is very isolated and is quite unique in its appearance, which is why it was included in the popular series. In contrast to castles that can be found in convenient surroundings, Zafra Castle is located in fairly inaccessible settings and is the only castle for miles around.

Castell de Santa Florentina

Castell de Santa Florentina

Another memorable castle featured in the show. This castle is located in Catalonia about an hour from the beautiful city of Barcelona. It is an 11th-century castle built in the Catalan town of Canet de Mar. Beautiful and magnificent, the castle or the fort has a breathtaking interior which was the main reason for its choice to be shown as a significant part of the show. Although the fort is privately owned, it can be visited by reserving guided tours on its official website.

Seville

Seville

We do not need a reference to a television program to remind us how beautiful the city of Seville is. Because of the richness of its heritage, which is reflected in the city's amazing architecture, the producers of the show rightly chose the best location, the Alcázar of Seville. This royal palace lacks words to describe its glory. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the oldest palaces in Europe that is still in operation. Built-in 1364, the palace has been redesigned, remodelled and expanded several times over the years. Precious porcelain, intricate details and colourful Moorish architecture make this palace majestic and grand in its appearance. The lovely gardens and fountains enhance its beauty even further. The palace has royal baths and picturesque ponds that were also part of the show.

Cordoba

Cordoba

Andalusia, in the south of Spain, is truly a beauty in itself. Cordoba is yet another beautiful city in Andalusia which was a major Islamic center in the Middle Ages. You will find a wealth of Islamic culture and architecture in Córdoba. The famous Roman bridge, which is one of the most emblematic places of Cordoba presented in the show, rightly shows the magnificence of the city of Cordoba. The bridge dates from the 1st century AD and is located over the Guadalquivir River.
