Bedrooms
L'Iglesia offers a total of 13 spacious bedrooms, each decorated with furniture and objects sourced from Moroccan antique dealers. Every detail, from the carpets to the antique furniture, creates a refined and unique atmosphere in each room. The towels, sheets and bedspreads are embroidered or hand-woven by an association of women from the Marrakech region.
- The first 8 bedrooms are located inside the church of Saint Anthony of Padua, and reflect the austere elegance of the 19th century, while incorporating elements of art deco and the atmosphere of the 1940s.
- The 5 others are just a hundred metres away, in the heart of the former American consulate. They offer spectacular views of the ramparts and the ocean.
Indoors
The interiors offer a real journey back in time, combining traditional 19th-century architecture with art deco decor.
The grand salon, set in the nave of the former church, is a space where you can relax with a book or a drink, surrounded by collections of antique radios, hats, mirrors and other period objects.
The games room and library offer a variety of entertainment, while every decorative element has been carefully selected to evoke the 30s and 40s. The majestic lounges, with their glittering chandeliers and antique clocks, offer an elegant setting for relaxing while listening to jazz.
Outdoors
The exterior is just as impressive, offering breathtaking views of the Portuguese City, the Atlantic Ocean and the port of El Jadida. The church terrace, equipped with mattresses, solarium, parasols and outdoor showers, lets you enjoy the sea breeze and Moroccan sunshine. The Harbour Master's terrace offers a unique panoramic view, with the added bonus of a bathtub perched at the top of the tower for a 360° view of the Moroccan coast. The outdoor areas are adorned with palm and olive trees, creating oases of tranquillity in which to enjoy a meal or an aperitif al fresco.
Staff & Services
The property prides itself on offering top-quality services to its guests. Breakfast is included and can be enjoyed at the foot of the ramparts or on the Capitainerie terrace. A daily maid service ensures that each suite remains spotless, and a security guard watches over the premises at night.
On request (and at an additional cost), you can also enjoy a traditional massage room where the benefits of argan oil take centre stage. For meals, the chef can organise menus based on the day's market produce, particularly fish and seafood (on request and at extra cost).
