In the bay of La Ciotat stands this small uninhabited island, the green island, full of surprises. It is the only wooded island of the Bouches-du-Rhône. It is these Aleppo pines that give it its emerald side. The stone of the island, the "Pouding", will remind you of the rocks that can be seen on the "Bec de l'aigle" opposite the island. Stroll along the path that covers the island, passing by the various creeks and beaches of the area. For the more sporty among you or in search of new sensations, take a paddle ride starting from the Cap de Mugel, towards the Green Island and back to the coast of La Ciotat. The shuttle leaves from the old port of La Ciotat and takes about 10 minutes.
Rich in lakes and rivers, the Luberon is the ideal destination for a picnic by the water. Lie down on the grass and listen to the song of the cicadas while reading a book by Albert Camus, native land of the famous writer. Our favorite: the 7 lakes of Beaumont-de-Pertuis, next to the Durance. Place your tablecloth next to the turquoise water and enjoy a peaceful moment. To live the experience to the fullest what better than to enjoy the flavors of Provence with a good tapenade, a small tomato salad and a drizzle of olive oil.
