The weather and climate in the Moroccan city of Essaouira is incredible for its location being very mild throughout the majority of the year. In July and August the highest the average temperature is around 25ºC which is due to the fresh current flowing along the Atlantic coast, protecting you from the intense heat.
Wind is very common here offering a cool afternoon breeze during the summer period. In summer mornings, the presence of fog and mist is known to affect the coastal area, but this clears up by the early afternoon. However, do not worry as some of our villas have a heated swimming pool which you can enjoy at any time of day. Precipitation is low and mostly occurs between October and April with short showers.
Temperatures are very mild with highs around 18/19ºC and at night the temperature rarely drops below 8ºC, but you may experience a cold wind so take some warmer clothes with you.

The best time to visit Essaouira is between May and October. During this time there is very little rainfall so you can enjoy your holiday. We suggest you don’t visit during July and August as there can sometimes be extreme heatwaves. However, our villas do have a swimming pool so you can cool off whenever you like.
As Essaouira is a beach city, people are more relaxed with their choice of clothing. It can still be chilly in the evening so we advise you to take a jumper or cardigan with you to cover up. As the culture plays an important role here, some women find it acceptable to be completely covered up. Shorts and t-shirts are generally appropriate to wear.
