Betancuria, authentic village

True treasure of the Canary islands, it is ony natural that Betancuria is listed among our top of the most beautiful places in Spain. Isolated and with less than 300 inhabitants, this village of Fuerteventura is absolutely gorgeous. Traditional white houses set in the heights in the middle of a luxurious vegetation, Betancuria is the perfect destination to rest far away from the city buzz. Regarding the tourist attractions, they are indeed few but still worth it. Visit Begur, travel through the time!

Begur village is one of the emblematic places of the Costa Brava, possessing an authentic charm. But make no mistake, this village of only a little bit more of 20 km² has many stories to tell. Walking around Begur is traveling through the past. It is common to meet some defensive towers in the middle of its medieval and enjoyable streets. Its american houses, sometimes visitable, relate the influences brought by Colon, back from America. Begur is the perfect invigorating destination! Described as a corner of paradise of the Costa Brava, it is still protected from mass tourism. Perched at the top of a hill, it offers an exceptional panorama on the plain of Empordà, Medes islands, Montgri massif and its numerous beaches. This Spanish village has its own protected natural reserve, but also of different diving spots to explore the ocean depths. Among them, the emblematic Illa Roja, which is probably the most photographed one of the Costa Brava. Without surprise, because as it names says, it provides a whole range of bright colours combining the red of the stone and the blue of its waters.

Cadaques - a unique cultural experience

Another must-see of the fishing village of the Costa Brava, telling its historic story through its heritage, is Cadaques. Combining history and local festivities, Cadaques is a real unique experience. In the village of Cadaqués, it is a sophisticated and poetic aspect which set down in the shadowed streets. On one side, discover the artistic influence of Salvador Dali, which lived in the village more than 50 years. On the other hand, see the influence of an ancient jewish community through its architecture, especially in the street Es Call. A real trip in trime! Have a walk in the historical center of Cadaques is to stroll in a labyrinth of cobbled streets and traditional white houses with blue details, to discover handcraft shops, small bars and typical restaurants. In terms of activities and festivities, you won’t be disappointed! Visit the museum-house Salvador Dali where the artist lived for years, or even, the Museum of Cadaques showing pieces inspired by the place. Cadaques never loses an opportunity to party and owns its on way to celebrate traditional spanish demonstrations: Festividad del sol Naciente in january, the Carnival in February, San Jordi in April, Feria de Indianos in June, or the Festival Internacional de Musica in August. Sitges, touristic but authentic

Only a few kilometers away from Barcelona, Sitges is one of the emblematic village of the Costa Daurada. Thanks to a mediterranean climate and its protection of Garaff mountains, it is possible to enjoy outdoor activities at whatever time of the year. Sitges is mostly known to offer very pleasant beaches, attracting different tourists each year. But this does not impact its authenticity! It allows you to try a real local experience through culinary specialties. Let yourself tempted by meals such as the xato made of codfish, tuna and olives with a spicy sauce. Must-see village of the Costa Brava, Tossa de Mar is a meeting place for international artists. While the painter Marc Chagall named it the blue paradise, Tossa de Mar seduced the actrice Ava Gardner, which played in a movie on the spot and thus gave her name to the “besos de Ava Gardner”, famous local pastry. But, the major asset of Tossa, for both tourists and artists, also lies in the ancient fortifications of the city which give it today the charm of its past. Admire the impressing walls of the castle which protect the heart of the historic city, stroll in the streets and refresh yourself thanks to the magnificent beaches of the seaside resort, where you can also indulge yourself with diving or snorkeling… a real corner of paradise on earth!

Ronda, at the heart of the history of Andausia

In the heart of the mountains of the Serranía de Ronda that the village of Ronda is nestled, proudly among the white Andalusian villages, about a hundred kilometers from Malaga. Natural land steeped in history, do not miss the cultural richness of the village. Second home of the Queen of Spain Isabelle and King Ferdinand, the Mondragon Palace is a must in the village. Combining Moorish and Renaissance style, also nicknamed the Palace of the Marquis of Villasierra, it was built in 1314 and now houses the Municipal Museum of Ronda. This one will deliver you all the secrets of the history of the village and even has samples of Roman and Arab tombs. Do not miss this visit! After that, head to Plaza Duquesa de Parcent, which promises a wonderful walk in a most picturesque environment. Senetil de las Bodegas, set in stone

Located in the province of Cadiz, Senetil de las Bodegas is a small white village, emblematic of the region. Its particularity ? Having sat on the edge of a huge rock, which dominates some of its small streets, to the point of replacing the roof of some houses. Some of these homes are even spread by the rock. This seamless urban-nature cohabitation brings a striking effect! It is possible to find some shade in Calle Cuevas del Sol, where the huge rock overlooks the street, filtering the powerful rays of the southern Spanish sunshine. Setenil is also renowned for its quality of products: admire the olive trees overlooking the huge rock, providing its famous olive oil. This natural protection, more powerful than any fortress, has withstood all assaults and conflicts since medieval times, making the small village a true historical witness. Indeed, it is possible to taste its excellent almonds, grown since the Moors age, or to revel in its virtuous wine produced in its vineyards, since the fifteenth century during the Christian conquest.
