A trip to The Algarve is an excellent opportunity to sample the local Portuguese cuisine. Portugal is a country with a gastronomical tradition that leans heavily on the fruits of its coastline, alongside a skill in cake-making that has bestowed on the world the delicious pasteis do nata, custard tarts. Traditional dishes such as cataplana, bacalhau assado, frango da guia and the delicious conquilhas à Algarvia originate from the area and sit alongside other local delicacies and international cuisine at the many restaurants that pepper the Algarve.
Vista - Located on a promontory in Praia da Rocha, Vista, as its name suggests, offers an exceptional view of the coastline and a first-class menu composed of local products.
Gigi's - Located on the Quinta do Lago beach, and accessible via a wooden bridge over the lagoon, Gigi’s is one of the region’s best-known addresses. A great place for seafood and fish dishes.

O Leão de Porches - Housed in a beautiful, 17th-century country house with a romantic atmosphere, O Leão de Porches serves elegant dishes, combining Mediterranean flavours with Northern European influences.
We enjoyed barbecuing at the property. We also did a lovely wine tasting evening with dinner and enjoyed a beach restaurant near our villa in Algarve and other restaurants locally.
