Bali, nicknamed the Island of the Gods, is a pearl of coral in the middle of the Indian Ocean. During your trip to Indonesia, you will be amazed by the beauty of Bali's natural landscape. Authentic, traditional and cosmopolitan, the island of Bali is home to a myriad of heavenly beaches of fine sand. Here, the waves of an immaculate blue will rock you and make your holiday unforgettable. Here is our selection of the most beautiful beaches in Bali.

Beautiful Beaches in Bali - Bali

Kuta Beach

Located south of the island, Kuta Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island. Its expanses of white sand surrounded by lush landscapes make it a true paradise. The spot is particularly interesting for surfers and all lovers of other water sports. Here, the waves are intense and unique. Only a few kilometres from the airport, it is ideal to end your stay in Bali on a high note. In addition, many events are organised on this popular beach: carnivals, surf competitions, and much more! For the record, the hippies landed on this beach in the 70s. Still imbued with this influence, Kuta Beach exudes an exhilarating and bohemian atmosphere.

Seminyak Beach

Seminyak Beach is one of Bali's most exclusive beaches. Highly fashionable, every year Seminyak Beach attracts a high-end clientele. The seaside resort is home to luxury restaurants, run by internationally renowned chefs who offer fine cuisine. However, this beach is also perfect for a family getaway. Revellers are well catered for, as in the evening Seminyak Beach comes alive with the many bars along the beach. If you have the opportunity, stay to admire the beautiful sunset, a must in Bali.

Jimbaran Beach

In Southwest Bali, Jimbaran Beach is a calm and quiet beach that will offer you a nice relaxing break. This haven of peace and tranquility is perfect for sunbathing as a family. The beach and Jimbaran Bay are isolated areas, ideal for resting under coconut palms. Jimbaran Beach is also known for hosting luxury hotels and upscale spas. Take the opportunity to give yourself a moment of relaxation! In the evening, head to the beachside bars to watch the sunset while tasting the tangy cocktails.

Amed

A note to the curious; the beach of Amed will undoubtedly surprise you! Located in East Bali, this beach is made of black volcanic sand. Not far from the Gunung Agung volcano, Amed's wild beach will make your vacation unique in the world. This peaceful little paradise is home to crystal clear bays with multicoloured fishing boats. Here, the seabed is superb. This is an opportunity to go snorkelling! Dive into the turquoise waters of Amed Beach and explore the underwater flora and fauna.

Atuh Beach

Located on the island of Nusa Penida, southeast of Bali, Atuh Beach is small treasure still unknown to tourists. In the morning, the beach is deserted. It's an opportunity to stroll on the fine sand with the whole family! In the afternoon, the beach comes alive with various activities for children: kite flying, sunbathing, volleyball...There is plenty to do! A wild beach, the beach is stony in some places. We advise you to go there by scooter or car.

Uluwatu and the Bukit Peninsula

In the far south of Bali, lies the secret peninsula of Bukit. Known for its dry climate, the Bukit Peninsula is also home to dream beaches. Among them, Uluwatu is ideal for a wild getaway. After visiting Pura Luhur Uluwatu, the temple of the region, treat yourself to a relaxing moment on the beach. Dominated by a picturesque cliff, Uluwatu offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Bukit Peninsula. This beach is also a favourite spot for surfers because of its huge waves of crystalline blue.

Padang Padang

This beach is also located on the Bukit peninsula, south of Bali. Hidden by a huge cliff, Padang Padang beach is only reached through a natural tunnel dug into the rock. However, if the beach was previously intimate, today it has become popular, especially through its appearance in the film Eat, Pray, Love where the main character goes to Bali after a breakup. Between surfers and tourists who come to tan, Padang Padang has become one of Bali's most unmissable beaches. To get away from the crowd, we advise you to go to the rocks at the bottom of the beach.

Beautiful Beaches in Bali - Bali

Nusa Dua Beach

In East Bali, Nusa Dua Beach is an exclusive beach, prized by a high-end clientele. Here, the sand is a fascinating mix of white and gold; the clear water, meanwhile, invites a moment of relaxation in the Indian Ocean. Designed to become an exceptional tourist spot, Nusa Dua Beach boasts a huge upscale shopping complex, called Bali Collection, as well as an 18-hole golf course. For more activities, we recommend you rent a kayak to navigate the clear waters of Nusa Dua Beach!

Sanur Beach

Previously one of the most popular beaches in Bali, Sanur Beach is now neglected in favour of popular beaches such as Kuta Beach or Nusa Dua Beach. To your delight, Sanur Beach is a rather deserted white sand beach. Bordered by a paved path, this paradise beach is perfect for a family walk or a little exercise. This haven of peace is therefore an ideal destination if you want to rest and enjoy the calm in the bustle of the rest of Bali.

The beaches of Canggu

Not far from Seminyak is Canggu. This place is home to different beaches with very different landscapes: deserted or frequented, white sand or black, there is something for everyone. We particularly recommend Pererenan Beach, a black sand beach deserted by tourists. Very quiet, this beach is ideal if you want to practice yoga or simply relax. Conversely, if you fancy luxury, head to Echo Beach. This favourite spot of surfers enjoys deafening waves that will delight water sports enthusiasts!

Legian Beach

Legian is the closest beach to Kuta. Yet as opposed to Kuta, it's much quieter and calmer than its neighbour. It's a small beach enveloped by lush green trees which seem to nestle and bring peace and relaxation to its visitors. Due to being less frequented by tourists, this beach is great for unwinding and connecting with oneself and nature. If you want to admire Bali's magical sunsets-- relax on Legian beach, and at 6 pm, sit on the sand close to the water to contemplate the fiery sundown whilst savouring a refreshing Balinese beer!

Soka Beach

Although smaller than other beaches in Bali, it's no less beautiful. It's also a more unusual beach, given its dark-coloured sand and bounded by high rocks from Mount Batukaru. Located in the northeast of Denpasar, it boasts calmness and peace and unique landscapes worthy of a postcard. In the village it's located, one can grab a ferry and head off to the nearby island of Java which is somewhat visible from Soka beach.

Batu Bolong

Located in Canggu, Batu Bolong is another well-known beach among surfers. It's home to the magnificent Buddhist network of Pura Batumejan, with its star-attraction being a pagoda-style temple. Batu Bolong also holds the best coffee shops on the whole island. Taste one of its Balinese coffees at highly-acclaimed places like Betelnut Café, Crate Café or the Bungalow and relish unique coffee flavours with a view.
